This three-bedroom A-frame ranch is located on the best fishing cove on Lake Barkley - McNabb Creek Bay. Relax on the deck enjoying the million-dollar view or explore the many great features available in the surrounding towns. You have almost complete privacy with total peace and quiet, surrounded by woods and woodland creatures such as owls, deer, and raccoons.
This house is completely furnished, including bed linens, a fully-stocked kitchen featuring a side-by-side refrigerator with ice and water dispensers, glass cook top, dishwasher, oven, and microwave. A great collection of board games and cards as well as a HD TV with Dish Network satellite TV and a DVD player with video collection provide entertainment indoors. Ceiling fans in bedrooms, kitchen, and sunroom. In the fall, enjoy a great fire in the massive stone fireplace.
The master bedroom features a queen bed, built-in dresser, and bathroom with stall shower. The other two bedrooms have double beds and dressers. Upstairs are two small sleeping lofts that can accommodate your own inflatable mattresses or sleeping bags. Of course, the two sofas in the living room are perfect for afternoon naps!
The main bathroom has double sinks, stall shower, and washer and dryer for your laundry needs.
A boat dock is available for your use with moorings for at least two boats. The Dryden Creek boat launch is approximately three miles away. Park your boat trailer or RV in the turnaround next to the driveway and park your cars under the 2-car carport. Go for a swim off the dock or lay out your towel to catch some rays. We have a designated fire pit for evening fires by the lake.
Forget your worries and enjoy a stress-free vacation at Rainbow Retreat Lake Barkley!
We were fortunate to buy this wonderful home from our friends in September 2013 and our plan is to retire here in a few short years. Until we are able to make that dream a reality, we want you to continue to enjoy our home and make it yours during your stay with us.
Misty purchased this house in 2013
The first time we walked out on the deck and looked out at the lake, with a perfect view down the bay to the main lake and the Land Between the Lakes (LBL), we knew we had found our waterfront paradise. We appreciate the fact that you are making lasting memories here at Rainbow Retreat. Lake Barkley is so beautiful and we like to think that you have the best view on the lake. The sunset is just breath taking as you sit and relax on the deck. The morning time is very peaceful as you sit and have coffee you can listen to all the nature that surrounds you.
We loved sharing the house with friends, both old and new.
Breakfast on the sun porch, drinks on the deck at sunset, hikes up the road with the dogs, driving the boat up toward Eddyville and the 'state pen' or downriver toward Cadiz and the Lake Barkley State Resort Park.
The house is secluded and peaceful. We had almost everything we needed already there. Other than a closed up smell when we arrived, it was close to perfect for what we were looking for. The road and driveway are a bit tricky when pulling a pontoon boat (narrow, winding, and no place to turn around till the end), but the truck driver in the family had no problem with it. Overall, it was a very pleasant vacation. We spent time boating and jet skiing out on the lake, cooking, and just resting. I wouldn't describe this as handicap accessible or toddler friendly, but it's great for older kids and people who are able to manage steps and walk up and down hill.
Rainbow Ranch was the perfect getaway for our family of 4. Our teenage boys loved being able to fish off the dock, tie up a boat and swim/float at anytime. Fishing was great, the water was warm and in a nice, quiet cove with tons of privacy. The house was stocked with everything that you can possibly need and the washer/dryer was an added bonus with towels, wet suits, etc. Beautiful setting and beautiful lake. Great family vacation. Will definitely be back.
We had the pleasure of staying at Rainbow Retreat last weekend and it was wonderful. The updates since last season are a great improvement. It was very quiet, nice subdivision. We loved the fishing area and all the nature. The house was very clean and welcoming. We will defiantly be back again.
This house is located in one of the best coves on Lake Barkley! Excellent for boating, skiing, tubing, wake boarding, etc! The view from the house is beautiful! However, the house itself needs some work. Upon arrival, we were disappointed to find the house wasn't cleaned properly and had a distinctly strong stale, musty smell throughout. The master toilet leaked and there was mold in the large bathroom shower. The windows and glass doors hadn't been cleaned in quite some time which inhibited our view of the lake from the inside. The driveway is difficult to navigate as it is quite steep and we were unable to park our truck and trailer. The railing spaces on the deck are very wide, so I wouldn't recommend this house for families with young children. Furniture needs to be updated throughout the house as well. With a little time and effort, this could be a great vacation house.
Stayed here for 3 months fall/winter while on a travel nursing assignment the house was comfortable with everything we needed the fire place was awesome and so was the fishing! We were very comfortable here the home is well maintained and the only issue we had was with the heat pump and was addressed right away. Overall an excellent stay! Would recommend the Rainbow Ranch!
I have had the pleasure of staying at the Rainbow Ranch in the early spring for the last three years! Our first trip to the Ranch started with my son and i pulling in the driveway to the view of McNabb Bay. Before we unpacked we grabbed our poles and walked the very short walk down to the water. Little did i know there was a four lb. bass waiting for me to finish my second cast. I dont know if all the stars were in aliagnment that week, but that week i spent with just me and my 14 yr. old son was the most phenominal fishing i have ever had on Lake Barkley. I highly recomend the Rainbow Ranch to any father who would love to Relax in this beautiful A frame. Fishing from the dock or your prized bass rig. Resting in the hamock or one of the comfortable beds. The Rainbow Ranch is comfortable and inviting. If you fish more than half a mile from the house you have gone to far.
