Holualoa Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Holualoa Cottage Studio minutes to Downtown Kona and Beaches

Lovely Mauka Studio Cottage on 5 Acre Horse Property yet minutes to downtown Kailua-Kona and Beaches.

This slice of Hawaiian Heaven is located on the temperate side of Hualalai Mountain, home to the finest coffee in the world, Kona Coffee. The beautiful vistas from our property over look our pastures with grazing Calves and Horses, the neighboring Coffee Farms and on to the Beautiful Kona Coastline and Ocean Horizon views that will amaze you with incredible Sunsets. The three stall Cedar Barn is home to Gilda, our Friesian mare and her 1/2 Arabian Colt, Kuu Ipo. There is also one wonderful oversensitive loveable Dog, Sammy, an old Red Hen, Ruby and a White Homing Pigeon named Pearl. Of course we shouldn't leave out the flocks of Wild Turkeys and Doves, and the variety of wild Pheasant and Birds that insist on visiting every day.

The Cottage is located on the quiet side of the main house and pool with commanding Coastline and Ocean Views of its own. The cozy studio includes a small refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, dishes and utensils. There is also a flat screen TV with a built-in DVD player and WiFi.

We are located approximately 2.5 miles from the Wonderful Quaint Artist Community of Holualoa Town, an Historic small town overlooking Kailua-Kona. This charming old Hawaiian Town boasts several beautiful local Artist Galleries, an acclaimed Restaurant, a small General Store, a country Post Office, Library, School, Churches and lots of old style Coffee Shack buildings. Of course there is a great Coffee House with Fresh Baked Goodies to enjoy as you stroll the Galleries. Kailua-Kona, beaches, restaurants and shopping are just minutes down the mountain.

Our home sits approximately 2100 feet above downtown Kailua-Kona. A bit cooler than sea level the nights are perfect for sleeping and the days perfect for activities. Our day time temperatures rarely exceed 85 degrees even in Summer.

Come experience a side of Hawaii that most people never get to see, yet so close to Kona, Shopping and all beach activities. Come enjoy our Country Hospitality smothered in Aloha!

About Sidnie

Just another runaway babyboomer from the west coast, nestling in the big island style of life for the past 14 years . The aloha spirit is alive and abundant in our wonderful country home in Keopu Mauka. My second love (after my wonderful Wayne) are horses (2 on property) and my best example is my pride and joy, Gilda, a Friesian Mare and her Colt who is not so young anymore, born Sept. 13th 2011.

Sidnie purchased this cottage in 2004

*****A MUST STAY PROPERTY******

  • 5 of 5
Well, where do I begin? As I type I have tears in my eyes, and love in my heart. I booked my stay here in Holualoa to search for the perfect location to live when I retire in a few years. As it so happens Sidnie and Wayne are realtors. The first night I was there I was invited to a little get together that Sidnie and Wayne were having at their home. As I was chatting with a few people about the purpose of my visit, a woman overheard my conversation and told me about a friend that had property for sale in Kailua Kona. A few days later we connected with the owner and went to see the land. It was love at first sight. I was represented by Wayne as my realtor, and went to see several other properties, but none of spoke to me like this one did. I am now the new owner of this beautiful 3 acre piece of amazing property. It was much earlier than expected, but when the Island calls, you listen. I will be building my home there in a few years.

Now back to the property.... This little cottage was very comfortable and I was surrounded by the beauty of amazing sunsets, the fresh cool breeze and the wonderful people and animals, especially SAM (their dog). Wayne and Sidnie are very special and accommodating people. I have made new friends for life. I can't express how peaceful and amazing this trip has been, and having a wonderful place to stay made it even better! Much love to you Wayne and Sidnie Aloha and Mahalo!

Cozy Mountain Top Experience

  • 5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed the our time spent on the Big Island of Hawaii. This sweet studio was one of the main reasons. We did not want to be in town and we found this mountain top cabin to be perfect for us. Gracious hosts, cooler temps, peace and quiet, beautiful vistas, green grass and palm trees, coffee farms, horses, cattle, singing birds and starry skies all helped to make for a wonderful 12 days of vacation. We hope to return one day. Thank you Wayne and Sidnie!

A romantic cottage

  • 5 of 5
We stayed 5 nights in the cottage and really enjoyed our time there. The place is really romantic and peaceful. Sidnie and Wayne are very welcoming hosts. The nights are cooler than at sea level, which is really pleasant. If you want to avoid the busy resorts on the coast and still be close to Kailua-Kona, this is the perfect spot.

Our week at the cottage

  • 5 of 5
We arrived on a rainy early afternoon & Wayne was promptly in the driveway to greet us with two over-sized umbrellas for our use, not only there but to take into town (luckily the rain subsided after that day). We instantly felt welcome & at home in the cottage. The pictures you see are exactly what you get. The only part missing is the ambiance of the property, that understandably so, doesn't translate well over the computer. We were just stunned by the views and how at peace we immediately felt. Even the smallest of details are met. Like, motion lights for when you come home after the sun has set, guiding you back to the cottage. There is dishware, servingware, wine opener, all the utensils you will need are provided. There are also plenty of towels as well as beach towels for your use. Everything was immaculately clean, comfy bed, cute table for two, mini fridge, coffee maker, it's all there! The porch has two seats to look over the beautiful view and thoughtfully a tiki torch with citronella to keep the bugs away is right there. We slept so soundly and drifted off to the sounds of the insects singing their hearts out. There is no AC in the cottage but that should be the least of your worries. Leaving a couple windows open at night brings in the most pleasant of breezes.

We were able to talk with both Wayne & Sidnie, they are both just the best! They're superb hosts. The atmosphere they've created is one that is relaxed & welcoming. Their dog Sam is the sweetest guy. He came to greet us in the mornings and upon our return from town each day, was there to say "hi". Their horses Gilda & Epo (hope that's right!) are a mother & son duo who are magnificent creatures with so much beauty. Gilda even treated us to her tricks!

If you're looking for a more tranquil, private experience then this is the spot for you! You can't find this sort of peace at any hotel. It is about a 15 min drive down to Kona and is well worth it. After a couple of days we felt like experts of the roads. It's very close to several coffee farms which is a great tour to take.

We're so pleased with our stay here and we hope to return in the future. Thank you Wayne & Sidnie we are so happy to have had the opportunity to stay at your cottage. This vacation we took was nothing short of a true blessing and taking the drive up to the cottage each day was simply wonderful. Many thanks to you! Hope to see you soon!

23 days in this adorable cottage

  • 5 of 5
This cottage and location is PERFECT for many reasons. Close to airport (kona), Costco, Macy's, grocery stores, etc. You would not expect these to be so close to this beautiful spot, private, lovely, with the cooler temps at 2200,00 ft up from Kona. Owner's, Sidnie and Wayne, are very hospitable, kind and gracious. Cottage is very comfortable, clean and I was immediately comfortable there. My only comment for improvement, would be to have the blinds facing the ocean to be replaced, so that the visitors may sleep in without the bright daylight being an issue. Horses, (Gilda and her son, Kuiipo) are beautiful; I loved how they came by the cottage! Loved their dog, Sam.What a sweet dog!! I highly recommend this rental, and would come back ASAP!!!
