Great Family Stay

When my family learned we would have a visit from my sister and her kids in July, family who had never visited Michigan, we knew we wanted to get them to the great outdoors. We only had one night we could spend, and where it was July, we knew it would be a tough task to find a place. The owners of The Farmhouse were really great at providing information and working with us to help accommodate us with their property. What a great choice it turned out to be. The site is a nice mix of camping and comfort. The home is a delight with nice features and real charm. The area is beautiful with nice hiking trails, proximity to other areas, and its own beauty on the property. There is an abundance of wildlife, and the small calm lake is really beautiful. We enjoyed use of the paddleboat, the row boat, and the canoe. We saw lots of fish (didn't have a chance to go after them). The lake is peaceful, was warm for swimming, and the home was very private. We cooked on the grill and roasted marshmallows over the campfire--all we wanted to be able to do. The next day on the way out we made the easy trip over to Ludington State Park to enjoy the beach. Where we had such tight parameters (10 people, one night, and short notice) we didn't expect to be able to find such a perfect place, but The Farmhouse was that place. We would come back, especially when we had more time to enjoy it.
