FEATURED ON HGTV's LIVING CHANNEL AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 HOMES - Have you ever wondered what it would feel like living aboard a floating home? Imagine waking to the gentle cradle of a river's current and feeling blessed enough to be able to experience the tranquility of life on the river. Serenity awaits you at our home.
Whether you are a business traveler seeking rejuvenating solitude, a romantic couple looking to rediscover one another, an artist waiting to be inspired again, an adventurer looking to explore God’s country, or a family in need of precious time together, just to share with one another, this is a home-away-from home guaranteed to sooth your soul.
Can you imagine, vision yourself basking in the stillness of the morning sun, stretched out on a cushy lounge chair, drinking a steaming cup of freshly brewed, Northwest coffee from our panoramic floating deck? Breath in the beauty of nature as the sun rises before you reflecting off the tranquil water. Witness the morning routine of our resident otters and beaver as you soak in our second story 'Lookout Tower' spa.
In the evening feel free to defy the darkness by lighting a bon-fire in the custom fire pit, while your line drifts with the river’s current anticipating a tug on your line from a nocturnal channel catfish swimming deep below. Gazing at your pole, your mind congers up visions of pan-fried channel catfish over roasted potatoes, mmm, dinner awaits you.
You will experience nature as never before, without ever leaving our home. The Pacific Northwest is known as Salmon Nation, from the house you can witness these majestic fish throughout the seasons as they breakwater searching to find their way upstream to spawn, fulfilling their life’s destiny. You will hear the Osprey cry out as they call to one another, circling high above, surveying the river for their prey. The Great Blue Herron, Bald Eagle, a variety of Geese, and exotic Ducks are no strangers to our back yard. Come experience river life for yourself.
This is much more than a vacation, it is an opportunity allowing you to take in the beauty of nature. If you had previously considered taking your family on vacation elsewhere, reconsider. You can forget about the theme parks in the big cities with their unavoidable crowds; this is one vacation that you will never forget. Bring your family to the end of The Oregon trail where the real adventure begins.
Oregon, The Original Adventure Land.
P.S. The house is nice too.

We were so pleased to have the opportunity to stay in this beautiful, peaceful, floating home on the Willamette River. Each year the gals in our "family" ~ Grandma, Mom, Daughters, Sisters, Niece, and grand~daughter scout out a retreat to gather and spend a few days together just enjoying one another. We couldn't have found a more amazing home with a hot tub, large deck and fire pit, beautiful home interior that was very cozy and spacious, canoe to float on the river, and lovely scenery with great natural backdrops for our photos. We also enjoyed all the Christmas decorations that were up to enhance the holiday spirit during our stay. Joyce was so kind and accommodating making herself available for questions and concerns throughout the entire experience. I would highly recommend this home for your pleasure!
Our family spent a wonderful week in the main house when we came to Portland to visit a daughter and her husband for the first time since they moved there. It was great to have space for our kids/spouses and grand-children. We made a lot of great memories and had a relaxing time - especially out on the deck or in the hot-tub, enjoying an evening fire and making S'mores, canoeing, swimming, fishing, listening to the sounds of nature (and the trains going by on nearby tracks which we easily got used to), etc. etc. The house was well furnished and we were able to do most of our cooking there. We enjoyed touring the nearby waterfalls, rode Segways to tour Portland, took the kids to the Oregon Zoo, and did some other site-seeing while there. Joyce was very helpful in answering our questions and Peter, the caretaker, was great as well. We would highly recommend staying in this unique home on the water!
Where do I start? When we first started walking down towards the bungalow we stayed in - the Minnow (not the house pictured, that was the neighboring home) - I just stopped and took in how beautiful the river was and how amazing the cute home was on the water. My fiance and I just got engaged, so it's been a pretty busy time this past month and we needed to get away and find peace and quiet. Well.. we found it. Waking up literally on the river every morning was amazing. The river is so calm you could lay out on a floatie in the water and be just fine. We loved all the amenities and the "house/grounds keeper" was a great help! Joyce - the owner of the homes - is so sweet and helpful! I have already recommended this home to friends and family. I guess the only thing I would say is, because you are right on the river, there are lots of little bugs - screens on the windows and a screen for the sliding door would be helpful... but that was the very least of our worries. We were too busy taking in the beauty around us!
My husband and I, on a whim, found the bungalow last minute in September 2012. We enjoyed our stay so much that we brought friends back in September 2013. The home is spacious, well appointed and comfortable for a two night stay. We had a chance to experience both a sunny beautiful weekend, and a torrential wind and rain weekend, both were spectacular to enjoy from the house on the river. It's true, the home is a bit of a trek to restaurants and grocery stores, so especially if the weather is bad plan ahead and bring your supplies. We look forward to making this an annual retreat.
We rented the bungalow with another couple and had a very relaxing getting away. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed. We love beinging on the water when we take our vacations. We did the Willamette Jet boat trip on the day it was a bit overcast and the remainder of the days we were on our boat fishing and enjoying the beautiful homes on the Willamette between Oregon City and Newberg. We will be back. Thank you for sharing.
This is not the first time I have stayed on the floating houseboats (nor the last). I've stayed in all of them and enjoy each one for something a little different - although I love the large luxury house and the little "minnow" the best. Beautiful, serene view from each one. Owners provide a canoe to take out on the water. Fire pit in the big house. Birds galore, otters, too. Tastefully decorated in each one. Kitchens are stocked with items you might need for a party or holiday dinner (we celebrated Thanksgiving). Across the road there are hills to walk/run and a nature reserve up on the bluff (with trails) or stay on the riverside and there's a pedestrian bridge to walk to the downtown area. Short drive to grocery store and other shopping. Portland about 25 minutes away. Had trouble getting a dryer to start (my error) and the owners called back within a half an hour (which I thought was fast since it's not a hotel). Great service.
