FEATURED ON HGTV's LIVING CHANNEL AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 HOMES - Have you ever wondered what it would feel like living aboard a floating home? Imagine waking to the gentle cradle of a river's current and feeling blessed enough to be able to experience the tranquility of life on the river. Serenity awaits you at our home.
Whether you are a business traveler seeking rejuvenating solitude, a romantic couple looking to rediscover one another, an artist waiting to be inspired again, an adventurer looking to explore God’s country, or a family in need of precious time together, just to share with one another, this is a home-away-from home guaranteed to sooth your soul.
Can you imagine, vision yourself basking in the stillness of the morning sun, stretched out on a cushy lounge chair, drinking a steaming cup of freshly brewed, Northwest coffee from our panoramic floating deck? Breath in the beauty of nature as the sun rises before you reflecting off the tranquil water. Witness the morning routine of our resident otters and beaver as you soak in our second story 'Lookout Tower' spa.
In the evening feel free to defy the darkness by lighting a bon-fire in the custom fire pit, while your line drifts with the river’s current anticipating a tug on your line from a nocturnal channel catfish swimming deep below. Gazing at your pole, your mind congers up visions of pan-fried channel catfish over roasted potatoes, mmm, dinner awaits you.
You will experience nature as never before, without ever leaving our home. The Pacific Northwest is known as Salmon Nation, from the house you can witness these majestic fish throughout the seasons as they breakwater searching to find their way upstream to spawn, fulfilling their life’s destiny. You will hear the Osprey cry out as they call to one another, circling high above, surveying the river for their prey. The Great Blue Herron, Bald Eagle, a variety of Geese, and exotic Ducks are no strangers to our back yard. Come experience river life for yourself.
This is much more than a vacation, it is an opportunity allowing you to take in the beauty of nature. If you had previously considered taking your family on vacation elsewhere, reconsider. You can forget about the theme parks in the big cities with their unavoidable crowds; this is one vacation that you will never forget. Bring your family to the end of The Oregon trail where the real adventure begins.
Oregon, The Original Adventure Land.
P.S. The house is nice too.

While my husband and son stayed at a conference hotel in Portland I had an excellent time in well-appointed tiny house, the "Minnow". I loved being right on the water! Our family left the area for a road trip to the coast, then all of us stayed at "Bungalow" before flying home. My son loved having the upstairs to himself, as well as being able to swim ten steps from living area. We all appreciated the comfort, and the decor was lovely. Kitchen was well-equipped and nice for entertaining. I can't wait to come back one day and try the main house.
This is a beautiful home in a serene location. It is very comfortable, has high quality furnishings and lots of great amenities! In addition to a fully stocked kitchen, there was a big screen TV with surround sound, stereo, games, fishing gear, outdoor fire pit, hot tub and so on. We had several families meeting in Portland for Thanksgiving and this was the perfect spot to host the dinner. Everyone had a great time and now have good memories. The owners were great to deal with and were responsive to our requests. I'd love to stay there again!
We did a guys weekend staying at the houseboat. It was perfect for us as we could bbq on the deck over the water, enjoyed the big firepit, did some winetasting at local vineyards, and even went for a swim.
I would recommend life jackets for any kids you aren't comfortable with around water as it could be a little scary for a parent. Besides that, this place was AMAZING!
I stayed during the winter (3 months)in the smallest of the vacation rentals "Minnow" it was a perfect choice for my needs, small, furnished, peaceful, safe and on the water.
Although my stay was expensive the owner did adjust my nightly rate due to my extended stay for which I was grateful.
I would recommend any of the vacation houseboat rentals, all are clean, well stocked with dishes, cooking supplies, small appliances, towels, bedding and 'Minnow" had a stacked washer/dryer! I also had cable TV with surround sound and a good Internet connection.
I should add there is on onsite maintenance man who is most helpful should any problems/questions arise.
Wonderful stay, beautiful surroundings and the owner Joyce is most accommodating!
We were so pleased to have the opportunity to stay in this beautiful, peaceful, floating home on the Willamette River. Each year the gals in our "family" ~ Grandma, Mom, Daughters, Sisters, Niece, and grand~daughter scout out a retreat to gather and spend a few days together just enjoying one another. We couldn't have found a more amazing home with a hot tub, large deck and fire pit, beautiful home interior that was very cozy and spacious, canoe to float on the river, and lovely scenery with great natural backdrops for our photos. We also enjoyed all the Christmas decorations that were up to enhance the holiday spirit during our stay. Joyce was so kind and accommodating making herself available for questions and concerns throughout the entire experience. I would highly recommend this home for your pleasure!
Our family spent a wonderful week in the main house when we came to Portland to visit a daughter and her husband for the first time since they moved there. It was great to have space for our kids/spouses and grand-children. We made a lot of great memories and had a relaxing time - especially out on the deck or in the hot-tub, enjoying an evening fire and making S'mores, canoeing, swimming, fishing, listening to the sounds of nature (and the trains going by on nearby tracks which we easily got used to), etc. etc. The house was well furnished and we were able to do most of our cooking there. We enjoyed touring the nearby waterfalls, rode Segways to tour Portland, took the kids to the Oregon Zoo, and did some other site-seeing while there. Joyce was very helpful in answering our questions and Peter, the caretaker, was great as well. We would highly recommend staying in this unique home on the water!
