Couldn't have chosen any better
Left on 03/23/2014 for a stay in March 2014
A long awaited trip to Berlin presented itself with the issue of where to stay. After trawling through many hotel possibilities and not being entirely happy with any of them, we decided to explore private apartments that might afford us the space, privacy and the freedom to come and go as we pleased. In addition, the location had to be right. We wanted easy access to all that Berlin has to offer as well as being in an area that had something interesting to offer in its own right. I came across this apartment located in the lovely Prenzlauer Berg district and contacted the owner.
From the outset, communication was prompt, friendly, informative and simple and in no time at all, the apartment was booked.
When we arrived we were warmly greeted by anne who showed us around the apartment and gave us advice on the local area - restaurants, bars, shops, U-bahn location etc. and then she left us to it.
This apartment impressed us very much indeed. It was modern, spacious and very tastefully decorated and furnished. It was immaculately clean and comfortable yet practical with everything we could ever wish for, including a very efficient Wi-Fi and a wonderfully huge comfy bed. It was located along a very pretty street which despite its cafes, shops, bakers etc. remained very peaceful and quiet. We were two minutes from the U-bahn which was on the main U2 route which allowed for easy and incredibly efficient access to the sights of Berlin and by purchasing a Berlin Welcome Card we were able to take advantage of five days unlimited travel on the U-bahn, buses and trams as well as being eligible for variable discounts in certain restaurants and attractions.
All in all - this apartment was a great find and the perfect choice for us and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it for any couple who were thinking of visiting this fantastic city.
Prenzlauer Berg district is very pretty. We took time to explore and delight in its café culture and its history. It hosts a fabulous flea market every Sunday morning located in Mauer Park (5 minute walk) I defy anyone not to make a purchase here ! In addition the world renowned Konnopke´s Imbiß located in Schönhauser allee (adjacent from the U-bahn station) is well worth a visit for their glorious currywurst.
I am an American with strong ties to Germany and spend time both in the Americas and Europe throughout the year.
We think the property's location could not be better, the space is perfect and the apartment is extremely charming and most importantly the apartment is very very quiet.
The Location, the high ceilings, the space, the buildings charm and once again the very thick walls which make the apartment very quiet, private and safe.
