The cabin was very clean, well stocked, nicely decorated. Loved all the Halloween decorations! The owners were super nice and helpful when I had a bit of trouble keeping the fireplace running. They called to check if everything was OK after we got there, a very nice touch. The cabin was our home base for meals, evenings in, and tv/ games. We went from there for a day in Cherokee (less than an hour) -- what a beautiful drive, and hikes in the Nantahala Gorge area. The Bartram Trail has an entrance point 0.3 miles form the house, so we hiked that to Lake Nantahala on our last morning there. We did not use the hot tub but it was available if we wanted it. The two level deck and fire ring were also nice touches. Recommended!
Regarding restaurants, we cooked all our food, so we did not try any local restaurants during the stay. There were a few local ones, not a large selection by any means. On the way out, Murphy was cute but almost closed up on Sundays - but Murphy's pub and a pizza joint were open so we had a small choice. Would have loved to lunched at the cool bistro in town - sorry forgot the name.
Owner's Response: Thank you Liz for your excellent response! We are truly happy you enjoyed the cabin. We try to make it comfortable with the feeling of home for all our guests! Keep us in mind for any future travels!
