Nutmeg Cove is an inviting house that allows you to get away while enjoying all the comforts of home. Full kitchen, three bedrooms (two queen beds and two twin beds), a cozy den and a large game room with pool table, ping pong and more await you. Fish from our floating dock or take a boat out to enjoy the famous bass, gar, catfish and stripers of Lake Murray. Swim from our dock or just float on one of our rafts. Multi-level deck, gas grill, satellite TV, DVD, VCR gaming table with roulette wheel and stereo all allow you to enjoy yourself any way you would like. Dreher Island State Park is 5 minutes away. Chapin has a nice community theater, restaurants, parks and more. Harbison Boulevard shopping is fifteen minutes. Columbia and all Gamecock sports are but one-half hour. Several golf courses are in Chapin just minutes from the house, with Augusta and the Masters little more than an hour's drive.

About The Owner

My husband and I live in Connecticut but we enjoy frequent trips to South Carolina to enjoy the sunshine, the southern hospitality, and the Gamecocks. Our son is a middle school social studies teacher in Dorchester County. We enjoy boating, fishing, swimming and running.

The Owner purchased this house in 2005
Why The Owner chose Chapin

We purchased this home because we love the lake and the Columbia area. Of the towns with lakefront property, we were particularly charmed by Chapin.

What makes this house unique

We enjoy fishing, boating and swimming in Lake Murray. We also enjoy cooking on the gas grill on the floating dock, looking at the beautiful sunsets, and exploring this beautiful area.

We have stayed at this site over the past three years for up to a month and have enjoyed our stays very much. The owners are excellent to work with and do allow our black lab. If you are into fishing and boating, this is the place to be. We have seen fishermen catch good size bass right around the dock in the early morning. Evenings are exceptional as you can sit on the deck or porch and watch the sun sets.

We had 6 men from 42 to 62 staying for a fishing tournament.Had plenty of room for everything. It was as advertized, a great place to stay and easy access to everything. Every question via e-mail we asked the home owner before going was quick and accurate. We will come back every year if possible.

The four of us had a wonderful stay at Lake Murray. The home was very accomodating and we found it just as it was advertized. Would recommend it to others. It was very roomy and would be great for families. Lots of room to play, etc.

Relaxing Place at the Lake

We had a mini family reunion over the Labor Day weekend and we had a great time. We had young adult kids from ages 18 to 22 who loved the game room downstairs in the evenings and my brothers brought boats and we all went tubing and paddleboarding. Us girls mainly floated and it was a nice quiet area of the lake.We grilled out twice during our stay and enjoyed coffee on the decks. The house was spacious and furniture beautiful and had everything we needed and more. I have already planned to go back next summer.

The house was large enough for all 5 of us and our dog to spread out. The kitchen was fully equipped as was the basement with plenty of game room items to keep everyone busy on the rainy days. The large gas grill even had extra propane tanks if we ran out. There was a large deck down by the water with a table and chairs for outside meals.
