Quiet little retreat
Submitted: October 26, 2010
Stayed: August 2010
We had 3 adults and two children stay here during the last week of August. The cottage is older, but has a modern kitchen with a nice open concept to livingroom. Bedrooms are small, but there was plenty of storage space. We were really impressed as to how clean and well kept it was. It was very quiet there throughout the week, we rarely saw neighbors. Kayaks and boat were fun (as were the board games provided in the cottage!) and we saw a variety of different types of birds, but we were a little disappointed there was no where to swim as the weeds were everywhere. My husband found it very difficult to fish there also and tried numerous different locations in the bay, but too weedy because it was so late in the season. Owners and property manager were also very nice and really made our stay an enjoyable one:)

Owner's Response: We would like to thank Whoppingcrane for discussing the modern kitchen, newly renovated interior, and open livingroom with Amish handmade furniture and a rustic feel. We thank them for recognizing our efforts to keep the cottage clean and up-to-date for our guests. One of the advantages of this cottage at the end of the bay is the quiet, undisturbed days and evenings with nature where you can watch the blue heron, mallard ducks, loons, geese, and an occasional wild turkey from the expansive deck in the backyard. The kayaks and jon boat are provided at no extra cost and bring to this paradise an added aspect of fun and adventure, that our guests typically enjoy. Due to fluctuation in water levels, the weeds can be at their worst in late August. The fishing is world class as described in In-Fisherman Magazine and is always going to vary week to week, and fisherman to fisherman.
