What a beautiful cottage. Every morning we sat in the sun room lapping up that view. We could not get enough of it. We took day trips exploring the area. We went up to Cape Vincent, saw the lighthouse, checked out Clayton and Alexandra Bay. Uncle Sam's tour of the Saint Laurence is a must do, We spent some time poking around back bay roads from the cottage to Pillar Point. We now know that bay and can safely say, there is no better view on the bay than the one this cottage offers. The pictures can not do it justice.
You immediately feel at home here. The cottage is tastefully decorated in the motif you would expect of a house on a lake. This cottage is very clean and well maintained. You can tell the owners take pride in their summer home. My only regret was having to leave. My wife loved it, so did I and would come back in a heartbeat .You will not be sorry spending your vacation here.
From the moment we pulled up and opened the door we realized we had made a fantastic decision to rent this wonderful blue cottage. We caught a full view of the gorgeous bay from the sliding doors at the back of the cottage sunroom which leads out to a very large back deck. We knew we'd be in for a relaxing treat hanging out there and watching sunsets, sunrises and birds during our stay. Our kids saw the dock and couldn't wait to grab their fishing rods to try to catch a few fish. Within a few minutes our kids were thrilled to pull up the first of many catches during our vacation. We also took advantage of using the complimentary rowboat and kayaks while we explored the many coves and parts of the bay. It was loads of fun exploring with our kids.
We especially liked the fact that the cottage had everything we needed to be comfortable for our stay and was nice and clean when we got there. It was so easy, we just needed to bring our personal items, clothes, and a few paper goods. They have all the pillows, linens, towels, comforters, pots, pans, dishes, silverware, full kitchen setup that we needed or wanted.
It felt like home, but was a very relaxing and fun vacation
We certainly would highly recommend renting this cottage. Hopefully we will be able to return again next year!
The house filled our needs we needed a place to stay to accomplish the task and we did.
We had two of our guest that were not keen on spiders, I think something needs to be done about them.
We had what we needed to cook our food. The beds were very nice we all slept well.
Our travel time to our friends who also rented a home was 20 Min. or more the home is not in Chaulmont.. This was a bit disappointing.
Even though the home is not air conditioned the fans that were supplied were sufficient.
The view of the lake was great the sunrise and sets kept out photo equipment busy.
All and all if we were looking for a place to rest and enjoy fishing the place would be great. There is plenty to do and see we even had time to do a day trip to Canada. We took two ferry's to get there its was a great ride.
We did not eat at any restaurants we did all our cooking right there.
The homes next to us were very nice not to close and very friendly.
I was there for a week with my son. We had a wonderful time. The cottage is so clean and well-maintained welcoming and comfortable. The owners are so friendly. Many amenities close by. You will find everything you need and more. We had a great time bird watching, fishing, swimming and relaxing. Did not leave the cottage very much. Would definitely recommend and plan to go back next year.
I can't say enough about the Bayfront Cottage. My wife, 3 daughters (12, 6 and 1) and I had a great time. The cottage was clean and well kept. The handmade bedroom furniture is absolutely beautiful. I would have to say that the best part was the location. It's the 2nd to last camp on the bay, which makes it very quiet and private. The neighbors on both sides were extremely friendly. My kids loved fishing off the dock and catching crawfish from shore while I enjoyed cruising around on the kayak. The nearest store is only about 15 minutes away, as well as a few restaurants which were very good. We traveled about 45 minutes north to Alexandria Bay for a day and had an absolutel blast up there. I made sure to be up every morning to watch the sunrise while I drank coffee out at the end of the dock. Whenever we've gotten back from previous vacations, we've always felt un-rested and in need of a vacation from our vacation. After a week at the Bayfront Cottage, we all feel rested and refreshed. We look forward to spending another week there.....soon!
MY FRIENDS AND I HAD A WONDERFUL GIRLS GETAWAY VACATION AT THE BLUE COTTAGE. THE PROPERTY WAS VERY CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED.
THE WEATHER WAS GREAT. THE PEACE AND QUIET MADE OUR VACATION A VERY RELAXED ONE. THE BLUE HERON RESTAURANT IN NEARBY CHAUMONT PROVIDES EXCELLENT LUNCHES AND DINNERS AT REASONABLE PRICES. THERE IS A SMALL COTTAGE BAKE SHOP RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER FROM THE BLUE COTTAGE THAT HAS EXCELLENT CUPCAKES AND BROWNIES. ONE DAY WE ENJOYED THE FERRY RIDE FROM CAPE VINCENT TO KINGSTON. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY TO A FRIEND OR RELATIVE. THIS AREA IS A BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF NEW YORK STATE.
