Contemporary loft (approximately 100 sq meters in size) with balcony and abundant natural light. Top floor of an 18th century building adjacent to a classified monument church. The apartment is on the 5th floor with no elevator. Sleeps 4 to 6people. 5 min walk to Notre Dame and Bastille. 2 min to Place des Vosges. Fine food stores and open market are all within close walking distance.
Building access is secured by code and intercom at ground level.
One bedroom has a double bed. The other bedroom has a single bed on the lower level and a compact double bed
In addition to these two rooms, there is an overflow mezzanine third room with low ceiling clearance that provides sleeping capacity for two. This space is a favorite for young teens; it feels like being in a tree fort.
Living room of 50 sqm, with open fireplace & open kitchen. 1 full bathroom, separate toilet. Waxed cement floors and wool carpets.
Note: steep ladder stairs (visible in photos) to access two of the beds.
2 large glass doors on Rue St Antoine, 3 windows facing stained glass arch windows of an 18th century church, 2 windows on courtyard. Classical piano, unlimited high speed internet access.
Large sofas in living room, large coffee table, open fire chimney, wood dining table for 8.
Super, fantastic Bohemian flat right in the Heart of the Marais!
For me, the flat and location couldn't be any better. Felt like a movie star and had a wonderful week in this fantastic flat. First of all I love Marais! Living right next to St Paul being able to look at the Towers of the Church through the windows in the ceiling and the balcony gave a special feeling too. Also having my favorite bistro just across the street, 'La Favorite' (serving the best burgers in Paris) was fantastic - so some of us could go out eating, while others stayed at home with the kids, and we could always see, what was going on, just taking a look at the balcony. In general we loved the balcony and enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of wine there, always having something to look at and feeling like a Parisian at home instead of a tourist :-) We had no problems what so ever with the cleaning, the flat was clean and nice, when we arrived. We had perfect customer service from the owner of the flat, could have wished, that the cleaning lady had known a bit of English though, but we managed in spite of that. I would love to come back myself and surely hope, I will! Would always recommend the property to everyone I know, especially families with children. Found the description and the photos useful and true.
We are a family of 6 - 2 adults, 2 college age, and 2 teens. This apartment is in a prime location - close to the metro and steps from Ile de St Louis, the most wonderful restaurants and stores of Le Marais, and a Starbucks (American coffee lovers!). The best crepes in Paris - in our opinion - is in Le Marais at La Droguerie. We enjoyed a lot of crepes figuring this out! Le Marais - c'est magnifique! Chocolate bread, chocolate croissants. Oh my!
We stayed one week in this loft apartment. For 6 people, we had plenty of room. It is full of nooks and crannies, artwork, and photos. This is someone's home - we knew this going in. We had plenty of room to spread out but we also appreciated the owner's property. It is warm, charming, full of light, great cross ventilation from the many windows, quirky, fun, and Parisian! This is not a sterile hotel room with no personality.
The kitchen was fully stocked with all sorts of items. Washer, Dryer, full fridge, tall water jugs to fill each day and then chill for the end of the day- so refreshing! There were plenty of beds to accommodate us - it was fun figuring out who got what room. Large table with chairs to seat us all. The huge couch was great to lounge on after a long day exploring. Being there was only one bath slowed things down a bit but the toilet room is separate so that helped. It would have been nice to have the shower head on the wall but hey - we got used to it. This was our home for a week and we loved it! Internet was fine, it was not slow for us. I felt the property was clean and well maintained. Hey - this is an old, old building. How perfect can it be? The uniqueness of this property is what makes it so special. I recall going to sleep in the highest bedroom loft, looking out the skylight to the Paris sky, looking behind out another small window to the church lights, thinking how lucky we were to be here. We had a wonderful experience and felt a bit Parisian when we had to leave. We had lived in Paris and not stayed in Paris. This loft added to our great time in Paris and will be remembered fondly by our entire family!
We are a family of 6 and found the apartment and location perfect. There are plenty of beds and a nice open family room that easily accommodates a large family. Within a block of the apartment are numerous cafes, bakeries and the Metro. We took the Metro everywhere and found it very easy to get around. It is also within easy walking distance to the Seine, Notre Dame and many other attractions. Nathalie was very accommodating when our train was delayed and we needed to find a bank upon arriving. She also had good recommendations for restaurants, ice cream and bakeries. Would stay here again.
This was one of the best places I have booked online by general family agreement. It is a loft/garret apartment high in the sky above rue de rivoli and has numerous tiny garret rooms for bedrooms which our kids adored. Our family of 5 arrived exhausted post trip form australia and were warmly greeted by the owner's daughter. It is a family friendly place, lot of eccentric arty touches, great photography and a chest full of dress ups and another of musical instruments. Our kids loved the open space, the tiny garret bedrooms up ladders and the views. It has clearly been a much loved family place, full of bits and pieces collected through life. It feels warm and homely and yet very french. A great way to get a sense of how parisians families may live. It's probably not suitable for small children as the ladders may pose a problem, but for mine 4 to 11, it was heaven. We had 3 adults and we also loved the metro outside, the views, the ability to open the windows and hear the church bells next door and the sense of being in the middle of the Marais. I couldn't have picked a better spot. Thanks Nathalie
Me and my colleagues rented Nathalie's Marais loft on a recent business trip and we could not have been happier. The place is so spacious and joyful, it made it a pleasure to come home after a long day of work. It is bright and cheerful but also very quiet so we slept well. I work in New York in the Fashion industry and I am very attentive to atmosphere and details. I liked the cheerfulness of this place, the huge airy loft space, very rare in Paris, the spacious open kitchen which actually makes you want to entertain ( we actually cooked dinner for friends twice) and the super convenient neighborhood. Right downstairs you have all the best stores, bakeries, fruits and vegetables, a butcher, a cheese store and a couple of supermarkets. You are also right in Le Marais, with all its cafes, boutiques, museums and restaurants. I will definitely come back to Nathalie's next time I have to go to Paris. Hopefully soon!
The flat was perfect for our family of 5, that includes three older boys (20, 16 & 14). Convenient to metro, outdoor dining on the square less than two blocks across the street and all major sights either on foot or Metro. The boys loved the loft beds, we particularly enjoyed the open space and unique personal touches throughout the flat. Nathalie was terrific to deal with from beginning to end, even walking us around the neighborhood to point out favorite cafes and other local favorites. We would definitely stay again if we make it back to Paris.
