Guestbook comments from the owner
We throughly enjoyed our stay in this little gem of a house. The highlights for us was the massive backyard and pool. Everything was well maintained and the shrubs and trees attracted a number of birds, which were fun to watch. The water in the pool stayed at a good temperature even after cool nights. Speakers and a grill made for the perfect July 4th getaway. The house was well furnished with everything we needed. One of the bedrooms has a full sized bed so it may be small for a couple. There was plenty of place to sleep though with the daybed and the queen size sofa bed. The owners were very helpful with recommendations for places around and answering questions. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

My husband and I have met in the Valley of the Moon (Sonoma valley), California. Don is a native of San Francisco. He is an illustrator and fine Art artist. He studied Art in the san Francisco Art Institute and has a great perspective eye and realistic art like trompe-l'oeil and portraits . I was born in Bordeaux, France . I am a world traveler , a guide , a language teacher, a rep in Mediterranean artifacts &Decorative ceramic tiles . Dance and photography are my hobbies . We both fell in love with the magic beauty of the Sonoma region and its unique mix of continental and tropical vegetation. We also feel very grateful for the wonderful climate and the proximity of the Pacific Coast , the mountains and our beloved San Francisco , only 45mn away !!!...

yannick Ponte purchased this house in 1987

Beauty, tranquility, privacy, inspiring site for nature , bird lovers and artists of all trade , historical entrance of famous novelist Jack London's ranch . A wonderful spot for relaxing and observing the birds , the sky and stars...

GREAT CHOICE

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I stayed here with our two grown children and had a great time. Yannick is warm and welcoming; her home is charming and comfortable and the location is excellent. We walked to dinner two nights, walked into town several times where there is a fantastic grocery/deli/wine shop, walked to 2 wineries, and walked to Jack London State Park. Highly recommended.

A WONDERFUL REFUGE!

  • 5 of 5
We spent our Thanksgiving holiday in Glen Ellen- my first trip to the CA wine country. My family of three (my husband, 16 year-old daughter and me) shared this lovely home with my sister. We had the rest of our family renting a larger home on Robertson Rd which was great as we could walk between them. This home is all it says it is and more. Yannick was a lovely and welcoming hostess. The house is bigger than we thought it would be as it has two living areas, one that my daughter settled into as her room. She took the front room which has a day bed that she found quite cozy and was separate enough from the kitchen and other living area that she wasn't bothered by earlier risers. The second living area is full of windows and light and opens to the beautiful patio and yard. This is a charming and cozy place painted in beautiful warm colors and full of interesting treasures with everything you need. We hosted breakfast one sunny morning on the patio after a family yoga session in the living room. Our place was the respite from the bigger, busier home where the rest of the family was staying. We enjoyed watching the birds in the yard, the 2 year-old (and my teenager) both jumped in the pool even in November! and the place just couldn't have been better. The owners are close by if you need them and they have a shelf full of tourist and area information to help you find your way around. The house is right in town, a quick walk to the wonderful market and anywhere you might want to go in town. Jack London State Park is right up the road and a great place for walks or bike rides, Glen Ellen has several wineries in and around town and several wonderful restaurants. It is also a short drive to Sonoma in one direction or Santa Rosa in another. I can't say enough good things about this charming home and its location and would recommend it to anyone.

GLEN ELLEN NEST

We had a wonderful stay at Glen Ellen nest. Yannick and Don were lovely and very accommodating The home is very clean, warm and friendly, colorful and thoughtfully decorated. The attention to detail in every room was remarkable ,we really appreciated Don's paintings. The only negative, the pool is not heated. Other than that absolutely wonderful place to stay.We felt at home and at ease in Glen Ellen. Great local market just down the street and very close to some wonderful wineries. A short drive to Jack London state park is worth the trek. Interesting and informative , plus a great place for a hike and a picnic .

RELAXING GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5
We stayed for one week in August - everything was excellent. The property is quiet and very well-maintained with a perfect-sized swimming pool, lovely songbirds and an array of outdoor seating areas. (There's even a hammock!). The house itself is beautiful - tasteful and comfortable interior design, with a well-equipped kitchen. I would recommend this property for professionals seeking a relaxing getaway, and families with older children (the swimming pool is unfenced; the neighbourhood quiet). The overall feeling is of an oasis in the wine country - with a good grocery store and restaurants nearby. Close to hiking trails, Jack London State Park and all of the beautiful vistas of wine country!

GLEN ELLEN NEST

My friends and I just got back from spending 4th July at Glen Ellen Nest and had the most wonderful time. Yannick and Don were fantastic and most helpful answering any questions we had, from recommending restaurants to suggesting activities and attractions nearby! Glen Ellen Nest is beautiful and the perfect retreat for lots of rest, relaxation and lounging by the pool. We will definitely recommend this beautiful home to our friends and hope to return soon.

Thanks again Yannick and Don!
