Gem in Mantoloking, Waterfront, Heated Pool with Spa!
Available summer and fall in 2014.
Premiere, PRIVATE spot on the bay in Manotoloking, way back off the road. Bring yourselves, your clothes and your Ipod….. you will need nothing else!
Park by the garage out on the road…. 5 parking spaces, plus 1 bay in our garage for you. Mozy through the garden gate down a winding bluestone path, through beautiful perennial beds, past the heated, very private swimming pool with spa, the pool terrace with umbrella table, through an overhang of pines and hollies, to the front door.
Enter through the front door into the hallway. Fix yourself a drink at the WET BAR, complete with icemaker, refrigerator and a vessel sink painted with a crab. Turn on the STEREO or plug in your Ipod….. the entire house has separate controls in each room.
Pass a small office with a COMPUTER at your disposal and enter the living room. There you will find a coffered ceiling, wood burning fireplace and ample seating. Artwork adorns the walls from our travels all over the world. Looking straight ahead, you will be swept away by MAGNIFICENT VIEWS of the Barnegat Bay, including Herring Island, a bird watcher’s paradise. Over and above Herring Island you can look down the Mateteconk River. These are the most spectacular views in Mantoloking. Enjoy the shore birds on our sandy beach, planted with indigenous grasses, …… you are certainly welcome to keep your boat on our DOCK.
Enter the large enclosed bayside wrap around porch. Ceiling fans move the air. The interior wall is lined with bookshelves, floor to ceiling, home for my husband’s inherited collection of shore birds. All windows on the exterior wall are new and open easily.
Dinner will find you sitting at my great grandfather’s dining room table, which seats 12 people.
Our kitchen is a gourmet’s delight. From the WOLFE COOK TOP, OVEN, MICROWAVE/CONVECTION OVEN and WARMING DRAWER to the SUB ZERO REFRIGERATOR and FREEZER, STEAMER SINK, and HARD PLUMBED COFFEE MAKER to the luxury of TWO SINKS, REFRIGERATOR DRAWERS and a BUTCHER BLOCK ISLAND, we have tried hard to make cooking a pleasure. A GAS GRILL is just outside the back door.
After dinner, you might want to sit on the DECK. If the sun is still up, just push the button to the POWER AWNINGS to create shade, and enjoy a fabulous sunset.
Or, there might be something that you might want to watch on the giant FLAT SCREEN TV in the large family room. The family room has plenty of comfortable seating, a wood burning fireplace and is lined with book shelves. The TV has a DVD and VCR player.
Or, walk out the family room doors and into the garden, for a swim in the pool. The black pool, looks like a pond, is surrounded by tall grasses, crepe myrtles and flowering plants. Turn on the spa, and feel the heat of the jets on your back, in total privacy.
Time for bed? There are TWO STAIRWAYS to the second floor. The master bedroom overlooks the bay, with a deck the full width of the house. Both a tub and a shower, plus two sinks comprise the master bath.
There are four other bedrooms and two more full baths. All are tastefully appointed. All have garden or bay views. The house sleeps ten people.
Want to go to the beach? Walk across the street and through the public easement, following the boardwalk. Hard packed sand is great for walking and running. We will supply eight beach badges.
The entire house underwent a 2 year renovation in 2006. We added heat and air conditioning, redid every bathroom, and the kitchen. It is all in immaculate condition.
So…….treat yourself! Throw the crab trap off of our dock and put your feet up…. You deserve it…. After all, you’re on vacation.
