INCREDIBLE VILLA! I would be remiss to not first mention the greatest aspect of this villa, the VIEW! The pictures simply cannot do justice to the view you will see from each floor of this villa. The villa overlooks Manuel Antonio National park which includes the an amazing ocean view. It is breathtaking, awe inspiring and truly something you can hardly believe you’re looking at.
We stayed at Villa Manuel Antonio for the first week of April and everyday since our return home my family wakes up wishing we were there. The villa is very spacious, clean, and perfect for large and small groups. We stayed with a group of 25 people including 7 children. The main house and two of the condos below fit us perfectly. The Villa is perfectly located with plenty of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The beach, national park, and Quepos are a short taxi drive away. If you plan to walk to the beach it’s about a 15-20 minute hike, but with the great views and beautiful area, it’s worth the walk. A couple from our group spotted a sloth scaling a wall on their hike and was able to stand just a few feet from it. The villa also has a nice pool and comfortable air-conditioned rooms. The daily maid and laundry service are definitely a bonus if you packed light.
Lorenzo, the owner, is a larger than life character. His hospitality, charm and service were better than we could have imagined. He always has a smile on his face and a funny story to tell. Not only did he arrange for our transportation to pick us up from the airport, but he also helped us plan our day trips, buy groceries, and answered all of our random questions. On top of all that, he helped us through the whole process of planning our wedding (held on the property), from the catering, to the music, to taking great pictures for us during our wedding!
To add to our great vacation were the monkeys we saw at the villa every morning…they were truly unforgettable. You’ll be able to see them mainly in the mornings and evenings when is not so hot. They come close to you and you can watch them play around the patio. My only advice would be make sure you close the front door because monkeys love to swoop in and take unattended fruit (which is amazing too by the way!). I highly recommend Lorenzo’s villa to anyone that is looking for a comfortable, family friendly place, and wants to just relax and have a good time!
I highly recommend Villa Manuel Antonio as a terrific place to stay while visiting the Manuel Antonio area of Costa Rica. The Villa is a rather large residential building perched near the top of a hill overlooking the ocean. The complex is gated, includes a beautiful pool with a great view, and is surrounded by a wrap-around porch complete with many hammocks. My group rented the top three floors, which was perfect for a large group. We had full privacy, and essentially the house was ours alone to enjoy.
We found the house to be clean and well maintained. A housekeeper refreshed the house, bedrooms and bathrooms, on a daily basis during our stay. There was plenty of space, both indoors and outdoors – we spent a good amount of time just relaxing in the hammocks and the comfortable blue couches. We did most of our own cooking in the full kitchen or gas BBQ (we could easily obtain food and basic groceries from the local markets) and had our meals at the large table on the porch overlooking the ocean. That said, there are many restaurants within walking distance from the house, including a nice coffee shop just down the street. The location is great, many of the restaurants and shops are within walking distance, but there are taxis readily available for longer journeys.
The extensive beach was about a 15 to 20 minute walk down a relatively steep road. The walk was very enjoyable, and my mother, who has had two knee replacements (essentially artificial knees), was able to do it just fine, albeit a somewhat slower pace. If she could do the walk, so can you! We spent a lot of time on the beach, but if you are going in the dry season, make sure you wear sunscreen as the sun was intense. We visited Manuel Antonio National Park, which was nice but a bit crowded, but we actually saw as much wildlife (monkeys, sloths, birds) around the house and on our walks to and from the beach as we did in the Park.
Finally, the Villa’s owner, Laurent (or “Lorenzo”) was staying in another smaller building on the property while we were there. Laurent was extremely helpful in working with me to arrange our stay in advance, and during our stay, he gave us great information and recommendations about the area. For example, Laurent booked some activities for our group in advance (a peaceful sunset/snorkel cruise on a catamaran,
good thing I can say, our visit to Manuel Antonio was very pleasant with our stay at Villa Manuel Antonio was perferct place for all my family, a group of 12, the rooms all with AC and a beautiful view towards the beach of Manuel Antonio, a balcony around the first floor to appreciate the whole Manuel Antonio bay and each room with its balcony view of the bay and end with a visit every evening from our balcony monkeys to make a trip to remember.
thanks lorenzo its owner was always there to help and inform about good places to visit and lunch.
security was very good.
I recommend it especially if it's a family outing or a large group of people
I organized my family reunion of 27 family members. We arrived in paradise! The villas were on a hilltop with the best views of manuel antonio. From the balconies and the infinity pool, you can view the jungle, ocean and beaches. We also saw monkeys and toucans from the hammocks that are on the balconies. Truly an amazing way to relax. You can take a 10 minute walk or a 2 minute car or taxi ride to arrive to the beach or the national park. In the evening the amazing restaurants are 2 minutes away by walking on the paved roads. Trust me, not all the villas are on paved roads, so this was great! After a great day at the beach, resting in the infinity pool, taking a nap in the hammock and eating well, it was great to come home and sleep in a king bed with AC in each room! One evening we even had a private chef come in and cook us an amazing meal, all we had to do is pay for the food (the chef is included all week long!!) Thank you to the private chef Desiree and Thank you Lorenzo for everything, truly a great host and an amazing modern property! The property is gated, secure and has private parking!
My family and myself spent 4 days at this amazing place. We appreciated all the facilities including the fact that it was very clean. Travelers will also appreciate the great view from the balcony and the pool. But most of all, Laurent, the owner, has been very welcoming and was always giving great advices to make sure we appreciate our vacation. I truly recommend the villa for your next trip in the area.
