Great Location
Eight fabulous women went to Key West for a long weekend to "celebrate" our 50th birthdays. The location was great and we could walk to everything. The house was very nice and perfect for us, although the upstairs was a little warm. When I reserved the house, I specifically told the owner that we were really looking forward to relaxing by the pool. She told me that the pool was right out the front door and, although shared with other houses, it was rarely used. Turned out that wasn't true. She also failed to tell me that only 5 people from any one house were allowed in the pool area at one time. Our very first day there, the other property owners made sure we knew... seems they didn't like us taking up all the space at the pool (which is extremely small) so instead of being nice about it, they called security. It was an ugly start to the trip but rather than use the pool again, we went to the beach at the state park that was just a 15 minute walk away.
Another issue we had was that the owner didn't tell us that the house was for sale. Within an hour of arriving, there were people coming through with their agent to look at the house. And, our last 2 days there was a lot of work being done to the exterior of the house... new siding, etc. It was very loud and not the way we wanted to spend vacation. We couldn't even get out of the front door with our luggage without the workers moving all of the debris.
Overall, we loved Key West, loved Truman Annex and the house itself was quite nice. The owner could have done a better job communicating some things to us which would have made it a better experience for us.
