The Owner purchased this apartment in 2008
Kirk is a real estate broker veteran with more than 30 years of experience in SF Bay Area . He can also help with any real estate questions you may have, We moved to this area because we think it is one of the most beautiful spots in the world and offers a fantastic climate. We enjoy the fabulous views, the proximity to wonderful restaurants, theaters, arts, cultural events, shopping and all the other wonderful attractions this area has to offer. We think you will love it also!
My husband and two sons visited Berkeley for our son's graduation from Cal. How we wish we had known about this jewel in the Berkeley hills for all of our previous four years of visits!! Kirk and Jaleh's apartment is lovely; exceedingly comfortable, immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and a great location. Every amenity is provided for. There is a lovely balcony with a table for "al fresco" dining, and a full-sized washer and dryer as well. We were even greeted with a bottle of wine and a tray of pastries on our arrival, (a welcome sight after driving 8 hours from San Diego). The house is conveniently located close to U.C. Berkeley, and is a short drive over the bridge to San Francisco. There are lovely parks and walking paths in the hills around their home, and we saw deer along the street in front of the house! Indian Rock is only a few blocks away- a great place to watch the sunset. There are also excellent restaurants within walking distance (if you don't mind walking hills), and an upscale grocery store called Andronico's a few blocks away where we shopped for the meals we cooked in the apartment. The only suggestion I have is to prune the trees behind the house to reveal that million dollar view of the bay and San Francisco. Otherwise, the apartment could not have been more lovely. Thank you, Kirk and Jaleh, for your wonderful hospitality.
My husband and I came from Boston and stayed in Kirk and Jaleh's apartment for ten days. It was just as we hoped it would be: comfortable, clean, quiet, very private and designed with everything we could possibly need. If I wanted something, I had only to look because I knew it would be there. That is such a plus when one is far from home. We were a little wary at staying such a long time in a place we hadn't previously seen but it worked out beautifully and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone. Nor would I hesitate to return. Thank you again.
My husband and I stayed at Kirk's place for 9 days in September. It was absolutely perfect, beautiful interior, and everything you need for a home away from home! Don't worry if you forget anything, this place is loaded with everything you would need including the washer and dryer! Kirk also met us with a welcoming smile, a bottle of wonderful wine, and pastries! Out on the deck or through the window in the living room I could watch the squirrels on their highways in the trees all day! Even the hummingbirds came by for a visit, you're not making a mistake by staying here!
Kirk is the most gracious host. He greeted us upon arrival with such warmth. There was a bottle of wine and a delicious cheese cake awaiting us. The accommodations were pristine. Very well appointed with every convenience. Beautifully decorated and most comfortable. Upscale neighborhood with a great park nearby. Our mornings were spent walking the many paths of the park. We usually stay in San Francisco, but now we are so happy we stayed in Berkley. Easy access to the city, while enjoying the easy, natural vibe of Berkley. The best of both worlds. Many thanks Kirk for such a wonderful stay.
As first-time visitors to the San Francisco, we knew very little about the area and where to stay. VRBO did NOT disappoint and we had a wonderful stay in this beautiful Berkeley neighborhood. We communicated through emails and phone messages with Kirk, prior to our stay. This apartment was the perfect spot for my husband and our college-aged daughter. Kirk was there to greet us upon our arrival, and the bottle of wine and fruit/cheese tray was greatly appreciated. We have stayed at many VRBO homes, but the added touch of having the owners nearby was especially a plus. The pride Kirk and Jaleh take in the apartment, in their own home, was very obvious. It was a wonderful respite for us as we returned from seeing the daily sights in San Francisco. We enjoyed many walks through town, and especially loved watching a few sunsets from Indian Rock. Transportation on Bart was very easy, and access by car to all of the sites made Berkeley a perfect location. Having a well-stocked kitchen, a washer and dryer, and very comfortable accommodations made this place one we'd certainly return to visit! Thank you SO much for helping us make some awesome memories!
This is a great place to stay--this is one of the beautiful homes in hills of Berkeley. The apartment is nicely decorated, and in a prime location in Berkeley. The hosts are very nice people, and several times they went out of their way to make us feel at home and pampered. We missed our flight and arrived a day late and I'll just say that they did something very special for us, and we really appreciated that. The apartment was very clean and having washer and dryer there really helped as we were traveling fairly light and with 2 kids. A little park (Indian Rock) is close by and my kids loved climbing there and checking out the view of the bay. I definitely would recommend this place, and during my next visit to the bay area i will try to stay there again--we had a great trip and this was the perfect home away from home while we were there!
