With breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean from Palos Verdes to Catalina Island to Malibu, this cozy beachfront retreat is yours to enjoy for a great family vacation, a romantic getaway or corporate/executive rental.

Just relax and rejuvenate every day as you watch sailboats drift by and dolphins play in the surf. Enjoy long walks along the beach and swim and play in the Pacific Ocean steps out your front door. Take a yoga class on the beach while watching and listening to the sound of the calming ocean waves, or take an easy bike ride to Manhattan Beach or Marina del Rey. Watch the sunset after a perfect day at the beach or walk down the street to enjoy the local restaurants in the little sleepy beach town of Playa del Rey, known for it’s solitude and ‘small town’ feel.

Close to the many attractions in Los Angeles, enjoy a day of exploring and sightseeing. Los Angeles Intl airport is just 10 minutes away. You will be only 10 minutes to Marina del Rey or Manhattan Beach, 20 minutes to Santa Monica or the Venice Boardwalk, 30 minutes to Hollywood, downtown L.A. and Malibu, 45 minutes to Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm or Universal Studios, and a 90 minute ferry ride to Catalina Island.

Our recently remodeled 4 bedroom, 2 bath quaint beach duplex has all the amenities you need to settle right in and feel ‘at home’. With a total of 1500 sq ft, this upper floor unit can comfortably accommodate two families or up to 10 people. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and all the cookware you need to prepare a family meal or a gourmet feast with bar seating, or dine al fresco at the picnic table outside with seating for 8.

Enjoy morning coffee or a glass of wine at sunset from the comfortable balcony filled with rattan & bamboo furniture, flowers and a BBQ. After a long, peaceful day at the beach, relax in front of the 2 flat screen TV’s, one in the living room (52” with DVD, CD, surround sound and Ipod dock) and one in the master bedroom (47”). Sleep peacefully to the sound of the ocean waves.

Take your pick of the Tommy Bahama room with 4 poster queen bed, the wicker room with a queen bed, the bunk bed room with 2 twins and 1 full bed for the kids in surfer style, or the huge 500 sq ft master bedroom with king size sleigh bed, private bathroom with double vanity and laundry. All bedrooms have new mattresses and quality linens plus ipod clock radios.

We so enjoyed our stay. Sherry was there to walk us through the house and stopped by later in our visit to make sure everything was ok. We loved being right on the ocean and spent some time every day walking along the beach. We saw dolphins right in front of the house and also a seal sunbathing on the break-water. The house was so convenient to our son's wedding and to his home and it made a nice gathering place for our family for the week. Anything that we needed was there - and I mean anything. The house was very nice and had lots of large clean towels (for the many showers taken). It was very nice to have laundry facilities available. Very comfortable to just hang out in. We would come back to stay in the future.

Amazing....

We stayed in this beautiful home for an absolutely memorable month. The ocean captured our hearts immediately and our amazing accommodations exceeded our expectations. Every detail of the house makes it comfortable and top of the line. It is obvious that it is not just rented out but done so in a way that offers complete comfort and ease. While there we rescued a sea lion and had our chance to see another right before we left. We saw dolphins almost daily, did workouts, yoga, biking and played while on the beach each day as well. We visited the aquarium, zoo, planetarium, science museum and Disneyland as well. It was a lovely vacation and we cannot wait to come back again. Steve and Sherry made our stay perfect and they were so wonderful and welcoming before we even arrived. We would highly recommend this property to anyone!!!

Phenomenal beach house!

Our family stayed in the upper and lower unit of this house and had a blast. The location was excellent, both units are charming, and we're already hoping to return to the same house for a vacation in 2014. Owners were super friendly. I have stayed at around 15 different places using Home Away, and this was my favorite so far.

My two sisters, mother, brother and I stayed at this wonderful home to celebrate my brother's 67th birthday with him! It was very special and made for the most precious memories we will cherish as my brother battles aggressive prostate cancer. He enjoyed walks on the beach, a short bike ride and sitting on the most charming and comfortable deck watching amazing sunsets and soaking in every last drop of beauty! The owners were extremely hospitable, the home had every amenity we could imagine and more! The rooms were beautifully decorated, beds were heavenly, beautiful live orchids were a plus for us, and the charming decor made you feel like you were in paradise! Loved the location, beach front was spectacular and owners were extremely kind and hospitable. It couldn't have been more perfect! I would highly recommend this home and hope to return again soon!

Perfect California Experience

I'm a native Californian who has been living on the east coast for over 20 years. My entire family still lives in Cali and I come back often for visits. I have rented beachfront homes on both the east coast and west coast, once or twice a year for the past 20 years. And I own a beach house myself. Sherry and Stevens beach home by far offers the best of all worlds. The location is perfect as it sits on a very wide, fine, white sand beach with unobstructed ocean and sunset views!!! The beach is also very private as it caters to private homes--not hotels and condos. Yet the oceanfront, beach bike path allows easy ride to Marina del Rey, Venice Beach and Santa Monica. Plus, it is so central to Beverley Hills, Malibu, LA, San Diego-about 15-25 minutes by car. This is an incredible home base for anyone wanting to explore the best of California.

Besides all of that, the house scores a great big 10. Shery and Steven maintain this home like it is a private residence. The entire home has quality furnishings including the linens, dishes and cookware. The modern kitchen has everything. The tiled bathrooms are immaculate. And the beds are big, comfy and plush. Every square inch is clean and cared for. The decor is tasteful, quintessential California. They even had beautiful live orchids in full bloom throughout. They must update this home continuously.

But my favorite part of the home is the large deck. It has a dining area and ample seating...PLUS, a daybed with big overstuffed cushions. I made it a point to be on the deck every day at sunset. I'd lounge on the bed with a cocktail and sometimes would drift off--this is highly unusual for my type A personality.

I don't know how they keep the home so polished. I will certainly refer all my friends and family. Whenever I am in So.Ca., this will be my first choice.
