My husband :) and I really enjoyed our peaceful stay here. The camp was very cute and very clean! The owner was very helpful and easy to contact when needed. The landing is just a few feet away which was awesome! There is plenty of room to park your trailer and truck. Cellphone reception wasn't the greatest, but I was able to call and text when needed. There is no satellite but there is a WIDE selection of movies to choose from in the cabinet. The camp has plenty of comfortable beds. Was hoping to land a lunker, but conditions were tough being it was very hot and the water was extremely clear. :(
P.S. The hummingbirds request that you clean the feeders and refill them if you visit during the spring and summer months.... :)
The ad for the property was not very descriptive, but I was amazed when we arrived to find a large custom built cabin that was wonderfully furnished. It did not contain just the basics like most rentals, but contained everything you needed for a relaxing get away. The ad does not mention things like the Sony HD TVs with DVRs and a video library of over 200 movies. It did not mention a TV and DVD in the bedroom. It was the little touches like a dining table with cushioned comfortable chairs and two deluxe and comfortable couches or two rocking chairs on the screened porch or the shaded deck for cooking out. We rented this cabin as a last minute trip. The owner of the property really went out of her way to put together a short notice stay and everything was done without glitch or flaw. Everything was as it should be, the property was wonderful. We will return.
We had a wonderful time the camp was extremely comfortable. The only thing we needed was food everything was else provided, the camp was very clean and accurate on description. The wharf was wonderful and we were in the middle of everything, boat launch was right there and didn't have to go far for anything. Will definitely come and stay again. The owner was very helpful and answered all questions. Any family would truly enjoy staying can't wait to bring mine back. :-}
I found the owner extremely helpful, especially when we had to change plans. After a beautiful drive up to this little community, we found the place clean and inviting. My fiance' and I enjoyed three days of slow living by the lake. We fished from the wharf and didn't catch but a few little ones, but we had fun. We wanted to really catch some and decided that a guide would be our best bet. I highly recommend the "fish whisperer". We limited out on crappie before noon. We found his name at the nearby Pirate's Cove Marina. This little diner had really good burgers and was a treat after a day of fishing. It is the ONLY place of business within 20 minutes of driving, but we liked the remote "away from it all" feeling. Luckily this cabin is equipped with a fish cleaning station that is well lit. Only complaint - No trash pick up nor a suggested place to drop the trash. The view - From inside the living area, there is a bank of windows that face the lake and offer a great view of the sunsets. We took some great pics. Cannot wait to go back.
Very nice place!! Located in a nice quiet cove with a boat launch near by. The camp is really nice. Nice covered pier with electricity for charging boat batteries. Camp has 4 queen beds so it has plenty of room for larger parties. Great fishing near the camp so if its too windy to get on the lake you can catch plenty of fish in and around pirates cove. The only negative i found was there was not cable or sat. service. They do have a vast selection of DVD's. Overall the camp is very nice and i will be back next year.
I have a large family (6 kids) and we came up from the semi desert of south Texas to stay at this property on the lake. It is far cheaper, less crowded and much more expansive than the crowded small lakes and rivers in the Texas hill country. I can only say - this is money very well spent! Property was clean, well kept and practical - I especially liked having the boat dock in the back yard, it made the constant ski/ tubingand swimming trips throughout the weekend very easy.
The house was well appointed, all you really need is to bring food, clothes and family. Owner was helpful, honest and made setup and stay easy; this is a family oriented location in every way - if you want to spend relaxing, quality family time with the wife and kids free of distraction - this is the place to go. Oh, almost forgot to mention - cell coverage is spotty (the horror!) - which forced the kids to spend less time on their phones... and more time enjoying each other. This made me one happy white boy :) I would highly recommend this rental to anyone, and plan on returning again myself next summer.
