Exquisite hillside retreat, lower-level unit, with a secluded private entrance. It is a 1 bedroom/1 bath unit with a very large bedroom which includes a queen sized bed and extensive closet space. Additionally, one of the sofas in the main sitting area, includes a trundle that pops-up to create a king sized sleeping space or two twin beds. The beds on this sofa/trundle are actual mattresses and are very comfortable. The living space is made even more cozy with a thermostat controlled fireplace to keep you warm as you watch the 40' flat screen television. If desired a DVD player can be included in the room for a small additional fee. The space includes a full sized kitchen with all the amenities, beautifully renovated with granite and marble, and the use of a new washer/dryer unit for your convenience.
Italian tile throughout. Immaculate, spacious, light-filled interiors, with breath-taking views of the San Francisco Bay. Secluded and serene terraces and walkways surround the Italian fountain just outside your private entrance. The location boasts gorgeous, lush, well-maintained, gardens and flowers, including climbing wisteria. Lemon and apple trees grow right outside your door and are available for you to pick and to enjoy. There are two separate patios for you to take in the breathtaking scenery while relaxing and/or dining outside. The unit's size is approximately 1155 sq. ft.

Stayed here for a week late March early April. The apartment was perfect and had absolutely everything we needed and more. Very clean and an awesome comfortable bed! We used public transit to go into SF, 25 minute ride no hassle! Grocery store close by. Claudine is an awesome host. This was a great place for our week exploring the Bay Area! Highly recommend!!
We stayed in Claudine's apartment in the Oakland hills in early 2014 while visiting our daughter. This is a great location for Oakland area travelers with a car. Starting with the view over the Bay everything is charming. There is lots of room, plenty of sun during most of the day, and everything in the apartment has been thought of, including a laundry. The kitchen is well appointed and ready for any meal (although you need to be prepared to hand wash dishes afterward). There is a nice fireplace and TV area in the living room that is great for sitting when you're not out exploring. It's all very clean and ready to go upon your arrival, and owner Claudine will help out with any questions that you might have.
Finally, the nearby town of Claremont offers everything that you might need--including a great breakfast place--while traveling and staying at the apartment.
I stayed in this wonderful home for a month and truly enjoyed it. The apartment has everything you need, and the view of the bay is beautiful. You are just up the hill from Monclaire village which has lovely restaurants and shopping and a quick ride into the city or other east bay locations. The kitchenette has everything you need, bed is very comfortable and you have a nice large bathroom and shower and the large washer and dryer are right next to the bathroom. It's very clean with all amentities and Claudine ensures you have everything you need. I would absolutely stay there again.
For Family reasons I must travel several times a month to Oakland and would often stay at the Claremont, however recently when I went to book a few nights it was booked. So I turn to VRBO and found Claudine's. She is a wonderful host and I will never stay at the Claremont again. Her units are tastefully decorated and clean and I can't say enough about the amazing view or the great neighborhood. Truly it has become my home away from home. She has thought of everything to make her units the most comfortable place to stay. Not to mention how quaint Montclair Village is. I can't recommend her unit enough.
I stayed at Claudine's home over Christmas week, and it was a great week. Claudine's home is divided into three separate "homes". I stayed in the lower unit, a 1 bedroom/1 bath with kitchen and living area. It was clean and comfortable and had awesome Bay views from the living area, kitchen and patio area. Very nice. The bed was awesome, very comfortable. And Claudine is a wonderful hostess who makes sure she pleases her guests. I certainly plan on staying there again.
A lovely little home on the hill in Oakland. Nicely decorated, satin sheets, well-appointed kitchenette, patio with tables and chairs. Pretty, hilly neighborhood (I'd suggest using a map program to find it, though) with quaint shopping, hiking and freeway access nearby. And will sleep a family for FAR less than any hotel would, and the easy freeway access and street parking are great for people coming and going a lot, like we were. I'm giving it 5 stars DESPITE the ban on red-wine in the apartment (didn't go over well with my Zinfandel-loving wife)! Otherwise, I'd stay again in a heartbeat.
Other Activities: shopping, wildlife viewing, racquetball, mini golf, boating, basketball
