About Ronda Culp

I moved to Redding in 1979 and have loved living here for so many reasons...the beautiful mountains,Whiskeytown & Shasta Lakes, the Sacramento River flowing through town and all of the outdoor recreational activities available here. I began selling Real Estate in 1990 and decided that one day I would love to live by the river. My dream came true 3 years ago when I was blessed with the opportunity to purchase one of the most unique & 'ONE OF A KIND' properties in Redding. Now I love the opportunity to share it with others...I've been a Realtor since 1990 with Coldwell Banker C&C Properties and love to help people find their 'dream' property!

Ronda Culp purchased this cottage in 2007

Why Ronda Culp chose Redding

The moment I drove down this 600 foot long driveway viewing the river I was mesmerized with this hidden jewell in the center of Redding. I knew I had to figure out a way to make it mine. I didn't realize at the time, that I would be making it available to others as a vacation rental. The more friends that came to visit were astounded at the views, privacy and uniqueness of the property,so I decided it would make a great vacation place for others to enjoy. I never tire of seeing Bald Eagles fly by, deer out in the pasture below and the train coming around the bend on the historic Diestlehorst trestle. It's a true gem!

What makes this cottage unique

Walk, run, or bike to the River Trail System just up the block. Walk to Starbucks & local restaurants . Only 3 miles to Bethel Church.

So many visitors love the convenient location, yet the feeling of being surrounded by nature. Bird lovers paradise! Bring your binoculars.

Guestbook comments from the manager

What a spot! Downtown Redding, so close, but with the "illusion of seclusion". We'll definately keep this in mind when our next visit to the area comes up--sure beats a hotel for the homey comforts and the hospitality.

Idyllic, wonderful, amazing!

  • 5 of 5
I spent a weekend at the Nautical cottage. When I first pulled up to the cottage and noticed the theme-based décor outside of the cottage (i.e. a deck shaped like the bow of a ship), I knew I was in for a treat. Inside the cottage was idyllic. Ronda did such an amazing job at making this space into a cozy retreat. I was amazed at how no detail was missed...she thought of everything. The view of the river is so peaceful and beautiful. I took walks along the riverside each morning and spent as much time as possible in the cottage in the afternoons. I can't even begin to describe what a wonderful experience I had. I would also add that Ronda is a lovely person and it was a pleasure all the way around to rent this lovely little cottage from her. I highly recommend to anyone - a romantic retreat, a peaceful single retreat, or someone who just wants to just get away from it all. Also notable, the location is right near downtown and 10 minutes from Bethel church. I will definitely be returning to stay at the cottages again. :)

Visiting from Alaska

  • 5 of 5
I rented the Nautical cottage for almost 5 weeks while visiting from Alaska, and was pleased to be so close to town (within walking distance) and yet be able to spend time in a beautiful, peaceful environment. .The patio affords views of the Sacramento river, and the folks fishing, and best of all, of the trains that go by. The cottage and the grounds were beautifully maintained,, and if I was in need of anything not already there, all I had to do was contact the owner. I definitely would plan another stay here, and do recommend this property to friends and family, and anyone else who is looking for a bit of seclusion yet wanting to be close to town for either business, shopping, or sightseeing.

Perfect Location in Redding

  • 5 of 5
We stayed here in April just before the easter weekend. The rental was very comfortable, private and had every amenity you could need on a vacation. We cooked there one evening and had everything we needed. Ronda is very helpful without being intrusive. The location is superb, you feel you are in a rural setting but starbucks is just a 5 min walk away. We hope to get back to Redding one day and would definitely stay here again.

Unique and Beautiful

  • 5 of 5
What a lovely spot--I could hardly tear myself away from my spot on the patio watching the river, listening to the birds and trains. My husband had brought fly-fishing supplies (just in case he had time and it was easy access), but its really not a fishing spot. The cabin itself is charming and efficient with two big easy chairs facing onto the view outside, a nice comfy bed facing the same view and a really good climate control system. The kitchen is minimal--just enough for preparing a simple breakfast, snacks or take-out which is all we wanted. Free grapefruit, an attentive and informative owner, a
well-appointed cottage and a killer view--what more could you want? Oh, there is train "noise" as the train bridge is very near, but even though I am a light sleeper, I was strangely soothed by the passing train sounds at night and throughout the day.

Visiting from Seattle

  • 4 of 5
We enjoyed a four night stay while visiting family in Redding from Seattle. The Nautical Cottage is quiet, comfortable, clean, and well equipped. It was lovely to wake up to a beautiful view of the river. Ronda was very accommodating, even when we arrived on Christmas she was there to greet us and see that we had everything we needed.

Great little hideaway in the middle of Redding

  • 5 of 5
My wife and I stayed in this beautiful little cottage for six nights. It is meticulously decorated with antiques and other items, but still felt very comfortable and homey. The view of the river is amazing, and we enjoyed watching the geese & boats go by on the river. We love to walk, and while the River Trail was just a couple of blocks away, it was easier to drive to the parking area, but not a problem at all. The kitchen area is small, but did have enough items for us to cook up a couple of meals, including having our kids over for a nice outdoor bbq. The only real downside of the property (depending on your viewpoint) was how close the property is to the train tracks. At first when we heard the train come by, we were very nervous as my wife especially is a light sleeper. And while you cannot miss the train when it rolls by, it doesn't seem to travel in the middle of the night, and it did not bother us that much. in fact we began to watch for it.

Ronda, the owner was very personable, and available if you needed her. The grapefruits from her grapefruit tree were awesome, still enjoying some that we brought home with us.

For those of you who are visiting Bethel Church, this is a great location, as it is only about 10 minutes from the church.

Really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back sometime.
