We had a great time at your place this weekend. We were close to everything we wanted to do. Especially the beaches, which our 2 boys couldn't get enough of! Thanks again!!
Very clean and quiet, extremely close to the beach. St. Joe's and South Haven a short car ride. Wineries and hiking all over. We really enjoyed out stay and certainly will return. Great place for kids too with large fenced in yard.
A friend and I take an annual girls trip and this year we visited southwest Michigan. We loved The Sand Dollar Flat! It was just perfect for the two of us. The bungalow was just as pictured, very clean and well stocked. Cris was wonderful to deal with. We had no problems while there, but if we had I know she would have dealt with them. We would stay here again and would definitely recommend it for a party of 2 or 3. I know it says it will sleep 5, but it would be crowded. We visited all of the beach towns in the area during the day and loved coming back to our little bungalow in the evening. At least one visit to the Coloma Cafe for breakfast is a must! Wonderful down home cooking! And a trip to Hagar Beach to view a sunset is a must, too. It's a mile away from the bungalow. Again, LOVED our stay here!!
My 4 children and I had a WONDERFUL stay!!! The flat was sooooo convenient to St. Joseph and South Haven...stunning areas both of them! Also, two other local beaches within a mile either direction. The flat was adorable, well furnished, and perfect for our family. My only wish was there to be a close "mini mart"....but that is MINOR. Great stay! Thank you!
We had a nice stay at the Beach Glass Bungalow. We spent all of our time at the nearby beach, and were really only there to sleep. It was the perfect size for our family of 5.
We were very appreciative that the owners booked us on super short notice. They were very flexible and easy to communicate with.
The bathroom seemed new, which was a plus.
The kids liked laying in the hammock in the backyard.
We WERE able to get wi-fi!!! Not sure if it was a fluke or what, but there was an open network, so the kids were thrilled that their ipads worked.
Cable TV was a bonus for the kids too. Nick and Disney kept them busy in the morning before we headed out.
There really is nothing nearby if you need milk or ice. Grocery is a good 10-15 depending on which way you go.
The farmers market in South Haven on Wednesday and Saturday mornings is really lovely.
We would definitely rent this place again!
Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our stay in St. Joseph and the beach glass bungalow. The place is adorably decorated, CLEAN, and just the right size for us the feel like we had space to relax after a day at the beach, shopping, dune rides and lots of sightseeing.
When we arrived we were a little surprised by the outside appearance, though not in a negative way. The owners have obviously take a great deal of pride in converting the old motel into unique bungalows and it has an artistic feel to it. The inside is immaculate, the kitchen is very well equipped for cooking, the bathroom was a nice size and nicely redone and the bedroom offered plenty space.
They backyard area seemed nice but we did not spend time out there -- we were too busy exploring the towns and beaches, as it was our first visit to the St. Joseph/South Haven area - and will definitely not be our last!
I would also like to mention that the owners were extremely easy to work with and cared very much that we had an enjoyable stay -- which we did!
The one suggestion I would make would be to replace the bedroom mattresses. They were not horrible, but would make for a more comfortable stay.
Overall, the bungalow was a lovely place for our family to come back to after a day in the sun and we look forward to coming back soon!!
The property is very cute in the inside, but when we first arrived we where thrown off by the actual street location, its in front a “main” street and its adjacent to some other properties that look like either they where a commercial buildings at some point or an old storage place that where converted to “bungalows”
There is really nothing good at walking distance; if you don’t want to drive and want to walk around “town” this is definitely not the place to stay.
But we really didn’t matter the location, as our plan was to be out and about every day.
The Kitchen is perfect we where able to have breakfast and couple of dinners with no problems, loved that the house had some board games and couple of kids movies that helped entertainment during the morning routine.
The backyard is nice, but we never used it as we where never there.
The major detail where the mattresses, I would recommend the landlord/owner changing them as they do not offer any support, our back hurt every morning and after the second day my wife and I where taking turns sleeping in the futon.
Also take your own water and be prepared for the smell of the water when you take a bath or brush your teeth it has the most sulfur smell I have ever experienced inside a house. And the AC unit is on the kitchen side of the house, you will have a freezing temperature there and somewhat hotter temperature in the bedroom, it wasn’t completely uncomfortable but there is a ceiling fan and they have a wall unit inside the closet, so we where ok…but not super great, specially after the first sun burns.
Besides that it all went great, we visit from Indiana dunes, Michigan City, St Joe, South Haven, Sagatuk, Douglas, Grand Haven and Muskegon, went to all the beaches, Michigan Adventure park, Tabor Hills Wine Tour, the boat cruise in Sagatuk, etc.
All the beaches are wonderful the towns are really small but a joy to walk around, we def bring back great memories, our kids loved it and we where able to get a tan, gain couple of pounds and had great family fun.
I would recommend this place if you don’t mind driving to the beach between 10min and 1hour and half and you don’t want to pay inflated prices to be inside the actual tourist town.
Overall great times in a decent bungalow
