We've lived in Estes Park for 20 years and love it! We've both worked on behalf of Rocky Mountain National Park and believe it to be a very special place.

The Owner purchased this house in 2004

Estes Park is a great vacation destination - for the stunning scenery and hiking found in Rocky Mountain National Park, as well as for the unique experience of the town of Estes Park, where families enjoy the unique shops, restaurants and area attractions.

Views, Views and then some more Continental Divide Views. This Home is unique even to Estes Park with its location on a ridge half way up Prospect Mountain. Elk, deer, bobcat, coyote and bear frequent the area. Enjoy all of this while relaxing in the hot tub on the private deck. At the Overlook House, you are minutes away from Rocky Mountain National Park, as well as the town of Estes Park.

WONDERFUL HOUSE, GREAT LOCATION, HELPFUL OWNERS!

  • 5 of 5
This is the second time we have stayed here. We come to Estes Park each Fall with our children and grandchildern. This is by far the most impressive house we have rented. The house is in a spectacular location with wonderful views of the mountains. The house is extremely comfortable, very clean, well maintained, and well equipped.

The hot tub is in a perfect location and the surrounding patio offers the same spectacular views as the house.

The owners are extremely helpful in making arrangements; the one time we needed help with heater settings they responded right away.

The house is set among a number of large boulders that are wonderful for kids to climb on. All in all a great house and a great experience.

THE WEEK OF THE GREAT FLOOD

  • 5 of 5
Wanted to give a great review for Dean and Nancy's lovely home. We had planned 6mo's in advance to stay 9 nights with them from Sept. 12-21st. Unfortunately for all involved, the totally unusual and destructive rains came in on the 10th and 11th, so by the time we got to the house on the 12th, the flooding had taken its toll on Estes. The park closed on the 13th. Dean was in contact with us as best he could be and had to drive up to the rental most of the time to speak to us as cell phones were not working anywhere in the area. He and Nancy were so understanding about the fact that the whole reason we had come to Estes was to hike and visit the town. That plan ended with the flooding. We had already paid for everything, so they could have easily kept the money, but they took pity on these Texas travelers and only charged us for the 2 nights we stayed with them. I can't tell you how much that meant to us. Just wanted to start the review with their generosity and understanding. The house is absolutely wonderful as well as the deck and hot tub. The view is unbelievable......the best we've ever seen and we've vacationed in Estes for 30yrs. I just wish we had been able to fulfill out rental week. If we had, I know I would have been able to give even more info on this outstanding home. We will be contacting Dean and Nancy for another try at their incredible home next Sept.

DEB, JOHN AND FAMILY

We fell in love with the overlook house even before arrival, and were not disappointed. This is a lovely and spacious home. Very nicely laid out and well equipped. It is in a very quiet setting and views are beautiful from every room in the house. The location is great, close to town and the park. The owner was very pleasant to deal with and wanted to ensure you enjoyed your stay. We wil definitely stay here on our next visit to Estes Park.

THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS: AWESOME VIEWS AND LOCATION

  • 5 of 5
My family and I instantly fell in love with the Overlook House and Estes Park. The house is spacious, clean, and comfortable. The views from the Overlook House are amazing! The combination of the views, privacy of the property, and comfort of the Overlook House create a sense of calm and peacefulness. Downtown Estes Park is 5 minutes away, and you can drive to RMNP in 10 minutes or less. We often drove into the park after dinner and fished until dark, and minutes later we were back at the house warming up in the hot tub- perfect.

PARADISE ON PROSPECT MOUNTAIN

  • 5 of 5
Words cannot express how amazing a vacation that we had. Being from Maryland, we were fortunate enough to find this paradisal reprieve from the heat and humidity of the East coast! The home was immaculate, private and the views from every vantage point were nothing short of spectacular. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Just minutes outside of Rocky Mountain National Park, we were able visit the park and all of it's beauty frequently and at any whim. (We had a snowball fight in July!) The wildlife was exciting as well!
The town of Estes was also a warm, welcoming, quaint place to visit. From the local entertainment in the park, to the vendors in the stores, to the restaurants along the Thompson River. We had an enjoyable time every time we ventured into town.
A must stay if you are considering staying near RMNP!

AWESOME VIEWS!!

  • 5 of 5
Awesome views are everywhere!! Out every window (and skylight)! Want a different view? Look out a different window! And there are decks off of every room. Watching the May snow was awesome! It was like nature coming to you while you are warm and comfortable in a user-friendly house! This place has a quiet, private, serenity to it that lets you feel like you are alone with nature (and still have all the modern conveniences-like the hot tub, ahhh). And all only minutes from town. I have found heaven and will be back!
