About Bob Wilson

We live in Vail Colorado but find 6 weeks a year to enjoy the beach. We can't get enough of either.

PURA VIDA!

Bob Wilson purchased this condo in 2008

Why Bob Wilson chose Tamarindo

Tamarindo and particularly the Ibis at the Beach condo are the perfect compliment to the snow and mountains of Colorado. We wanted high quality and a low maintenance home. Ibis Verde was the answer.

Tamarindo is the number one tourist spot in Costa Rica with top notch restaurants, activities galore and great night life. We now have the best of both worlds.

What makes this condo unique

Our condo is very close to the ocean. We are avid water sports people and particularly enjoy surfing. We are an easy walk to some of the best surf breaks in Costa Rica, for beginner or expert levels. The views from our balconies provide a spectacular view of the estuary, mountains and the wide range of wildlife that lives there. The Beach Club has an amazing infinity edge pool looking over the white sands of Tamarindo beach. The Club amenities include pool side bar and restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a complete fitness center as well as a pilates and yoga studio. When renting a condo on line, you want to be sure that you get what you want and will not be disappointed. Ibis Verde is a luxury condo with amenities PLUS.

Amazing!

  • 5 of 5

This by far has been our best family (husband and 8 yr old daughter) vacation! From the moment we arrived it felt like we were home. Bob, Sebastian, and Juan Ro made our stay very comfortable. The driver was supposed to stop at the big grocery store but ended up taking us to the equivalent of a 7-11. When we arrived Bob showed us around the condo (which looks exactly like the pictures) and then took my husband grocery shopping. The location of the condo is directly across from the beach club and about a 5 minute walk to downtown which offers tons of amazing restaurants. The condo itself is clean and well maintained, and very comfortable especially the beds. Juan Ro took us on an incredible tour to Rincon de la Vieja and Sebastian arranged the Estuary tour for us (it wasn't super exciting for an 8 year old unfortunately) and I took surf lessons with Marco who was a great instructor. I also did the surf set fitness class at the gym at Langosta Beach Club which I would highly recommend. We all felt very safe walking the beach and streets of Tamarindo in the evening. I'd say the only downfall was that we couldn't stay here for our entire 2 week vacation as they did not have the condo available for the whole time.

Phenomenal Vacation in Tamarindo

  • 5 of 5

My family (wife and two children) spent a week in Tamarindo over the holiday break, and were thrilled we chose to stay at the Ibis Condo. It was very clean, had a great location only a short walk to the center of town, and was directly across the street from a beautiful Beach Club. Bob and his staff were incredible throughout the entire stay, across the entire spectrum of our needs. Not only did they help change our flat tire, but they also arranged an incredible tour into Rincon de la Vieja (for ziplining, river rafting, horseback riding, etc.), as well as private surf lessons. I highly recommend you take advantage of their Costa Rican home-cooked dinner, served in your apartment at a time of your choosing ($20 per person plus the minimal cost of the food), which was by far the most authentic and best-tasting meal we had all week (which says a lot considering the restaurants we ate at were also fantastic). Overall, we had an incredible stay in Tamarindo and at the Ibis.

Incredibly kind and happy staff!

  • 4 of 5

From the second we pulled in with a flat tire the Ibis staff was amazing. They offered to change it and they practically had the tire done before our bags were out of the car...not to mention they smiled the entire time. Everyone was so nice and helpful from the moment I first inquired about the property to the minute we pulled out of the lot. I would give the staff a double 5. The property was great and despite it raining at times, they worked very hard to keep the floors dry and mud cleaned up. It was nice to have a full kitchen, refrigerator and washer/dryer available. The relationship with the property across the street, which provided a pool, workout facility, restaurant and bar was wonderful. The location is easily walkable to town and minutes from the beach. Overall, this was a great experience. Our only problem was a septic issue which we were told they were in the process of replacing. The smell in the building and surrounding properties was at times completely unbearable. Certain units seemingly had stronger smells than others. Despite this, I would go back to this property in a second but ensure the issue is fixed.

Fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

I would recommend this property without hesitation. My wife and I and two children (7 and 10) spent a wonderful week here. The property was well run and the staff were wonderful, helpful and accommodating. The beach club, membership of which is included in the rent, was directly across the street and right on the beach. We could not have asked for more and would not change a thing!

I would absolutely go back to the Ibis!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at this condo for 8 days with a 5 adults. From the very beginning we liked this place for its cleanliness and convenience. Everything we needed for our stay was made available to us. The kitchen is fully equipped and the appliances are all brand new and state-of-the-art. There is a well functioning A/C, which always kept our condo at a refreshing temperature regardless of how hot is was outside. In addition, there was a fan in every room and in both of the bathrooms. Having a washer and dryer was also great and I realized after we arrived that I could have packed much lighter. This complex is right across the street from an excellent beach club and a beautiful beach. It literally takes 1 minute to walk there. The Ibis also provided free WiFi, which was great. The supermarket and town is only a 10-15 minutes walk if you are not lazy, but security will call you a taxi if you need one. There are several restaurants in a walking distance, such as the Langosta Beach Club, Sangria and Kahiki, which were all excellent. The property manager, Bob, was also very nice and extremely helpful. He met us in person upon arrival, showed around the apartment and always made himself available if we had any questions or concerns. He also arranged all of our transportation and gave us many great suggestions. We highly recommend this place and company. We feel that renting a condo is a much better choice for the family than the hotel, because for the same amount of money or less, you actually get more room, privacy and comfort. Try it and you'll love it!

Wow, what a beautiful condo!!!

  • 4 of 5

The pictures do not do this place justice!! It is spacious, well appointed with high end appliances & everything you would need for your stay, along with comfortable beds and pillows; spotlessly clean. When we did have any problems or questions the management agent was there immediately. The building/grounds were maintained and the 24hr security was extremely helpful with packages/luggage. The beach club, right across the street, was such a great asset as the waves on the beach were a bit much for my 5 year old. There are frequent inexpensive local buses that stop close to the property but since there are no formal schedules, which I could find on-line, you will have to ask either the drivers or the locals as to their schedules and asking in Spanish would help; this is a much, much cheaper alternative to taxis, which can be expensive in this area. One supermarket I recommend is the AutoMercado but again you cannot walk there and need some form of transportation which I am thankful to the management agent for the ride round-trip. We did encounter some glitches which one cannot blame on the owner or are just a result of regular wear & tear: a) we could not access the apartment's WiFi but we were able to access someone else's in the building b) the refrigerator ice maker was not working although we were able to make ice the old fashion way which took a day or two c) the A/C thermostat was not working as well, so to shut off the A/C we had to cut the power at the circuit breaker but most nights we did not need the A/C only during the day time d) one has to keep in mind that you are in the middle of the jungle and creepy crawly things abound and I am more than sure that this is a problem throughout this whole region (exclusive property or not) but we had a 4 legged visitor nightly as well as insects which easily slipped in from the big gaps under the sliding doors e) it is a walk to town but not too far, I do recommend some form of transportation be it ATV, bicycle, moped, or car which will also save on the costs to the airport round-trip which can be more than $140 f) the condo does not have a working phone so it is recommended to rent a cell phone while in CR if you are going to stay a while, it will help when booking transportation & excursions. All in all I believe if you are a nature lover this is the place for you and would have given this place an excellent rating but for the problems we encountered. I would recommend this place!
