Top notch rental!

  • 5 of 5

My family an I stayed at the lodge for a long Thanksgiving weekend. Between the fire, Icedishing on the Lake and watching the lighting of the Christmas tree in Boulder Junction during the Christmas walk it was a weekend we will all remember. The house is great. My brother and I looked up from ice fishing on the lake and saw the house lit up on the shoreline and both said it was the best cabin on the lake. Mike answered all of our questions (and we had a lot) quickly and was very friendly and professional. 5 out of 5

Great Lake House

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I drove the six hours from Chicago and stayed a week. We had a wonderful time staying at the main house. Mike was great to work with and very responsive through the whole process. The accommodations of the main house were very clean and fit our needs perfectly. The house had a great layout with a very nice sunroom. The fire pit was in a good location to spend the evenings while enjoying the spectacular view of the stars. We had good pan fishing off the dock and we rented a boat from Boulder Marine Center that worked out great for us. They picked me up from the house with the boat and dropped me off at the landing about one mile from the house. It couldn't have worked out better. We saw numerous eagles soaring through the sky and perched on branches in the trees. We also saw a family of otters swimming alongside our boat. Fishing on the lake was good; while I was unable to land a Musky we still caught several perch and a few bass among others. The town has everything a small Northwood's town needs including small grocery, good bait shop and a few bars & restaurants. I would also recommend taking a day and exploring the downtown area of Minocqua about a 30 minute drive south. We could have easily stayed a few more days and we’ll be looking for opportunities to return in the future.

Wolf Bay Lodge

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time visiting Wolf Bay Lodge. The owner did an excellent job taking care of our visit. The home is lovely and has a beautiful view of the lake. We appreciated the cleanliness of the home and the use of the canoe/kayaks. The listing photos accurately reflect the rental's appearance and amenities (one point to be aware of: although we did not use the detached unit, we noticed that the interior of the unit is not up to the same level as the main house). We saw more eagles and loons than we have ever seen on a Northwoods lake! We even watched a family of otters while on a kayak ride! We would recommend this home (but not the detached unit unless it is for teenagers!). We also visited Bond Falls in the U.P. Very relaxing week - thanks ever so much for sharing your beautiful home!

Excellent!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at the Wolf Bay Lodge on High Lake was fantastic. The cabin surpassed our expectations. We especially enjoyed being so close to the water and the views from the cabin’s large windows facing the lake. While we don’t fish (which I understand is great), the lake offered spectacular views of eagles, loons, other wildlife and even a great blue heron or two. The cabin was neat and clean and had just about everything needed to make this seem like a home away from home. There was plenty to do, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, biking, dining out, shopping or just relaxing. We would strongly recommend this vacation home to anyone.

This Place is a Keeper

  • 5 of 5

Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, it did. We enjoyed our time at this High Lake home last year so decided to come back. Last year the mosquitos were bad, but the owner sprayed this year before we came, so we were able to enjoy all the place has to offer inside and out. Kids would really enjoy a steady activity of fishing from the dock. We had a good week of pan fishing and watching several eagles who nested in area along the lakeshore. It is a great location to get away from it all, yet just a short drive will put you at the door of some great restaurants in the Boulder Junction area.

Close to PERFECTION!

  • 5 of 5

Minus the mosquitoes (very prevalent) this summer, I would term this rental PERFECTION! As others have described, "It is far beyond a cabin in the woods!" We had all the amenities of HOME; it was an extremely comfortable place to return around our "wedding commitments" of the week. Cozy leather furniture and superb views from windows. One of the most enjoyable/memorable moments was witnessing eagles flying consistently from nest to trees. It was a thrill to take kayaks out on the lake to experience NATURE, up close and personal. A turtle laid eggs in the middle of the driveway (first time witnessing this) although her chosen spot was NOT the best. Mike Murphy was exceptional throughout the rental process. Lastly, between the house and smaller building, we easily accommodated seven adults and one infant, whose Pack-N-Play was covered with a mosquito net in the evenings. Our group would return to this home without hesitation. :)
