Emmetten is a holiday resort, located about 25 km south of Lucerne on a sunny slope above Lake Lucerne (750 metres above sea level) and has two cable lifts, one on Niederbauen with paragliding paradise and the other leads to the skiing and hiking paradise Klewenalp-Stockhütte. Swimming facility at the clean Lake Lucerne can be reached in 5 minutes, at Bergseeli in Seelisberg in 10 minutes by car. Emmetten has the Swiss award of 'Family Friendly', has a very good restaurant and excellent infrastructure (village shop, sports shop, hair salon, post office, public transport).

Golf: In Engelberg, about 40 minutes’ drive from Emmetten, there is a new 18-hole golf course (Alpengolf Engelberg, check out the website).
Ski: The ski area Klewenalp-Stockhütte extends from Emmetten, from 800 m to 2000 m above the sea level. Despite the relatively low lying position, the area is so much guaranteed of snow than any other place in the surrounding! The gondola lift Emmetten-Stockhütte goes directly to the ski resort Klewenalp-Stockhütte with 10 ski lifts and family-friendly ski runs and infrastructure (baby parlour, ski kindergarten, ski school for all levels.
