We lived in Potter County for 17 wonderful years and raised our children there. The ceder-sided house is beautiful, and the 56 acres that come with the house are filled wildlife. We've seen twin fawns frolicking on the mountain and bear cubs racing up trees. Porcupines, raccoons, and rabbits abound. We've biked and hiked and sledded for hours. The town is full of friendly people, and the area has many things to do. It's a great place to get back in touch with yourself and the natural world. We hope you love it as much as much as we do, Jeff and Mary Beth, Granbury, TX.
The Owner purchased this house in 1991
We had a marvelous time at this wonderful country retreat. It is located just minutes from downtown Coudersport, yet completely private and in the country. The house easily accommodated the twelve adults and two children. The grounds outside featured play areas for the kids and a lovely garden. The internet was flawless. There was available TV and a plethora of books to occupy anyone. I would highly recommend this very complete hideaway to anyone planning a stay in the Coudersport area for any year round activity. We certainly plan on staying here for our next visit to Coudersport.
A group of my friends and I stayed here mid-November. The place was clean, cozy and very accommodating. The property is absolutely beautiful. We took many long hikes. And had plenty of wood for making campfires. I will be coming back soon. I can't wait to see more of the surroundings. Mary Beth was such a pleasure to work with on the reservation.
My family and I went to coudersport and stayed at Miller Mountain Retreat. We stayed for two nights and have to say it was a wonderful experience. The cabin we stayed in was more than we could of hoped for. Everything we needed was there and the place was absolutelybeautiful. No cell phone service which for us made it even more perfect (the cabin had wii-fi) it was so nice to unplug from the outside world and focus on each other. Our main reason being there was so star gaze at Cherry Springs State Park which is only about 15 mins away. That place was so unbelieveable that we can not wait to go back. Thank you so much for such a wonderful stay! The Wellmans and Campbells
Our family had a wonderful long weekend at this property. The advertising was truthful, the photos accurately showed the amenities and met our expectations. We especially enjoyed using the fire pit each evening and during the day found enough activities to keep a family busy (ranging in age from 70's to age 8). Around the house, the kitchen was large and well equipped, plenty of varied and comfortable seating was available in several rooms, and the bedrooms and bath amenities were excellent.
We went to Lyman State Park for an afternoon of swimming, played putt putt golf, went to the Lumberman's Museum, and were amazed at the awesome ruins of the dam in Austin as an example of some of our activities.
We would highly recommend this property and would use it again.
Despite the rainy, cool weather, we had a great time on our girls' hiking trip. We didn't get to hike as much as we would have liked because of the rain, but there are several really cool little towns within and hour's drive of the house, and they were fun to explore. The house was comfortable and very clean and the owner and maintence personnel were quick to respond to our request for additional firewood -- which we used every day to keep the chill away -- wine glasses, which also helped to keep the chill away, and propane gas for the grill, which we needed during the several hour power outage our second morning. Leslie rescued us with the propane and was sweet enough to also bring candles, wax and battery powered, as well as paper plates and napkins just in case the outage continued for a long time. Luckily it did not. There were plenty of bath towels and paper products, as well as laundry and dishwashing detergent, a nice bonus. The jukebox was a fun addition, although it seemed to be possessed and played what and when it wanted, giving us something else to laugh about. Even though the house was in a secluded location, you could still hear the traffic noise from the road, which subsided at night, so that was good for sleeping. All in all it was a positive experience.
This was a perfect place for myself, my siblings and extended family to gather and celebrate a milestone birthday. It was easy to get to, spacious, clean and comfortable. We loved the private location and the hikes on the trails. We were also able to take a drive to the PA Grand Canyon. The juke box was an excellent touch; we used it often....thank you Nathan!!!
