STAY AMONG STARS IN THE HOLLYWOOD HILLS/SPECIAL: DAILY$189 MAY6-14

My daughter and I drove from Denver to LA with my niece in her small car carrying a u-haul style trailer packed with all of her belongings and a cat named Henry. We arrived at our HomeAway destination; a beautiful property with palm trees, incredible views and a charming cottage garden. The apartment has walls of stucco drenched in vibrant colors with a private gated entrance.

The interior is very clean and colorfully decorated with comfortable furniture, original art, whimsical tile work, a small fireplace and an extensive collection of dvds and books. The smaller back bedroom has glass doors opening to the garden and the larger front bedroom and living area both open to a charming and completely private patio and courtyard. Every morning we sat in the sun on the patio sipping our coffee and planning our day. This was a working trip with the goal of finding a place to live for my niece and after many hours of driving and looking at apartments, we appreciated coming home to our own unique retreat high above it all in the hills of Hollywood.

Frances, the owner is a gracious and welcoming host. She lives on the property behind tall stucco walls with security gates, so your privacy and hers is complete.
She has thoughtfully stocked the apartment with all of the essentials and more, so there is no running to the store for soap, detergent or toilet paper. We really enjoyed the limited time we had with Frances!

We were quite comfortable with 3 people, however there is only one bathroom and you must walk through the master bedroom to access it. This works fine with family situations, but might be a bit awkward with two unrelated couples sharing the apartment.

I'm looking forward to staying here on future LA visits and having more time to enjoy everything this property has to offer.

My husband and I spent a long weekend here when visiting for our son's birthday. Perfectly located, we were only a five minute drive from his condo near Runyon Canyon and a few minutes more to much of West Hollywood. Great views - including a nearby overlook above the Hollywood Bowl. The house itself is spotlessly clean, quiet, and very charming: white walls with colorful art and furniture; plenty of light from the skylights and windows; comfortable beds; and a pretty garden. It also has the best dvd collection I have ever seen!

This house and location were perfect for our family, two adults and three teenage kids. It is off Mulholland drive, with a view from the drive to the famous Hollywood sign. We had a rental car, so the trip to all the sights was a quick 5 mins down the hill.. to Graumans Chinese Theatre, Dolby Theatre, Madame Tussards, the Hollywood Bowl, Santa Monica Boulevard... We took a trip to Santa Monica and Venice Beaches which took about 40 mins on the freeway. We thought driving in LA would be horrendous (particularly as we in Australia drive on the left hand side) but the city is built for driving and we experienced no problems whatsoever.
The house itself is furnished beautifully, very private and had everything we needed in terms of kitchen, laundry, an extensive array of DVD's and a driveway for our car. Frances was very helpful in terms of background information before we arrived and then helping us with local knowledge once we were there, however
even though she lived on the adjoining property was not obtrusive at all. A wonderful stay and highly recommended!
