This Cape Cod cottage is a clean and comfortable vacation rental in the Maravista section of East Falmouth Ma. The property borders on a beautiful salt-water bay beach and boating dock. Located in a Quiet, Family, Child safe neighborhood surrounded by picturesque wetlands and bike/walking path, which leads to a Nantucket Sound beaches (click on map in this post). This two-story cottage has two bedrooms, a bath with a tub, enclosed h/c outside shower. It offers a Queen size and three twin beds that sleep up to five guests. The cottage also boasts of cable television, VCR, DVD, Internet Broadband, kitchen with microwave, coffeemaker, toaster and utensils, a propane barbecue grill, patio, picnic table, and lawn furniture for those looking to cook or relax outside.
Only 400 feet to a salt-water bay, the cottage is convenient for swimming, boating, and fishing, great location for kayaking in the Great Bay. Other popular activities in the area include deep-sea fishing and windsurfing. For those looking for adventures in and around town, Falmouth offers four Golf Courses nearby and numerous fine eateries, lovely boutiques and theaters. Downtown Falmouth is only three minutes away by car, and 15 minutes to nearby Woods Hole with its famous Oceanographic Institute and Marine Aquarium, is easily accessible by both car and bicycle. The scenic Falmouth Harbor is home to the “Island Queen”, one of the ferries that runs between the mainland and Martha’s Vineyard (a must day trip).
My teenage son and I stayed here for several weeks last summer while he interned in Wood's Hole. An outstanding location, close to the beach and a great walk to Falmouth. Especially good place for running. You live close to the owners, so you have constant access if you have any problems or issues. Probably best for a short stay. A few disadvantages: the living room is super small (only a loveseat and 2 close-in chairs with wooden arms so no place to stretch out), the kitchen is teeny (you'll find it difficult to prepare and serve meals for more than 2 people), the ceilings are only about six and a half feet high (my 6'2" son and husband were scrunched in), and the shower is just an attached outbuilding. A washer/dryer would be awesome given the humidity. Be sure to ask for specific dimensions if space is important to you.
We stayed at the cottage for a week and enjoyed our stay. Especially liked Bay Beach which literally is a 5 min walk. The cottage was clean and a great base to explore The Cape.Paul the owner was most helpful and informative. Would highly recommend the cottage.
Exactly as advertised. This is a cute cottage with everything you'll need for a family get away on the cape. The location is ideal. We rode our bicycles to the Island Queen ferry and spent a day pedaling around Martha's Vineyard. The Shining Sea Bike Way is close and absolutely beautiful. The kids had a great time catching crabs and small fish at the salt pond beach at the end of the road. We enjoyed the ocean beach (only a few minutes away) as well. The owners were friendly and helpful.
What a quaint cottage. It was perfect for kids - with the inlet at a stones throw away - for exploring, fishing and swimming with no surf. My husband and I loved the scenic views on our runs along the Atlantic and enjoyed the convince of being so close to Bristol Beach which offered more surf and sand than the inlet. The cottage really did not lack anything. It was well equipped with all you may need in the kitchen; the perfect sized t.v. for the kids to watch after a full day of activities. The beds were comfortable and most importantly it was very clean. Paul, the owner, was right next door and ready to offer suggestions and directions if needed. We had a wonderful vacation. It is really a great place for a family of 4-5. We highly recommend it and hope to return should our travels bring us back to Falmouth.
Our family had a great week there this summer. It's a cute little cottage, yet have everything you need. It's located on a quiet and beautiful neighborhood about 50 ft. from the Great Pond, and scenic bike trails along the Pond to beach.
We went deep sea fishing. Paul was really patient and helpful, we grilled the fish we caught. It was the first time my son really enjoyed having fish, he didn't like supermarket fish before. We also went to Woods Hole and Martha's Vineyard. It was just a wonderful vacation.
The best restaurant our taste bugs said---- in Falmouth is La Cucina Sul Mare, in Woods Hole is The Captain Kidds, and in Martha's Vineyard is Black Dog Tavern. Coffee Obssession has the best coffee.
The surfing boards were really cheap at Christmas Tree Shops of Falmouth.
This cute little house is ideally located in a quiet street, within walking distance of the beaches at Falmouth Heights, and a short car journey to Falmouth centre, harbour, shops restaurants etc. There is also the benefit of the smaller private beach about 50 yards away at the end of the road. The house is small, but the great patio and garden area complete with gas grill mean that the living area is much bigger - as a family of four we found the space worked well. I was unsure about the outside shower, but it worked out fine - although I wouldn't recommend it if you want a luxury bathroom. Paul was extremely helpful, providing helpful advice and information, and being next door was easy to get hold of. Overall we were really happy with our choice of house, and had a great week in it.
