Hideaway Bay Beach Club Condominiums is an extremely unique vacation experience. You are on an island that is approximately seven miles long and about a quarter mile wide, with most of it being a state park. There are only two condos on the island and the rest of the island is private residences. From our unit you can see the ocean and is a very short walk to the beach down a boardwalk. The beach is absolutely amazing. Most of the time it is you and a couple of other families on the beach. The shell collecting is unparalleled. You can find sharks teeth, sand dollars, horseshoe crabs and even fossils. The ocean is clear with shades of blue that remind you of the Keys and the Bahamas. The surf is small and you can float for hours on rafts.
You arrive by boat. Gone is the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Your main mode of transportation is a golf cart or your two feet. Pull carts are provided for your luggage and groceries. Our unit has been upgraded to provide many nice amenities to the discriminating traveler. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, crock pot, waffle maker, sandwich press, coffee pot and Corian countertops. Enjoy unwinding on the balcony overlooking the lake with views of the ocean. There are plenty of golf cart paths for exploring the island. There is a large community grill and smoker, two fully stocked fish ponds, heated pool, and swings. Boat dockage is included in the price. There are two snook lights on the dock for nighttime fishing.
There is plenty of fishing to be done. You can fish from the shore or by boat. In Gasparilla Sound you will see dolphins playing and jumping, manatees, and the occasional ray jumping. Overhead look for Osprey and white pelicans. You can rent kayaks, canoes, or boats. Continuing through the bay, you can enjoy some flats fishing for snook, redfish and trout. Heading south you will arrive at Boca Grande Pass. Here you will find the tarpon capital of the world. You can also catch grouper, goliath grouper, snapper and whatever is biting. You can see sea turtles and crabs floating in the pass. It doesn't take long for something to bite your hook. It is usually nonstop excitement.
There are plenty of unique restaurants you can get to by boat or by car on the mainland if you are too tired from all your playing to cook. Our children have been known to fall asleep at the dinner table. Words do not do the island justice. It is a place you have to come and experience. We love that you can boat, fish and go to the beach on what you feel is your own private island. We hope you enjoy this piece of paradise as much as we do!

PRICELESS... My son caught what we call a slam in fishing that day. Our family has so much fun enjoying all this island has to offer. I'm a veterinarian in central Florida and we make the drive across the state to go to the island. There is nothing like it. We often beg my wife at the end of our vacation to move to the island and home school. :-) We hate leaving.

This is one of the last hidden treasures in Florida. We love it because of the privacy of the beach and the great fishing. As a kid I grew up fishing in this area. My dad also grew up fishing here and I Always had to hear "Back when I was a kid". Many things on the island have not changed through the years. The house my dad grew up coming to is still there and looks the same. My wife and I got married at the chapel on the island. This place is much more than just a vacation spot for us.
There are no cars! When you get there you charge up the golf cart and go. The kids can have fun exploring with no worries from the parents. No commercialization is on the island. You must be prepared before you come, but once there you never want to leave. Please email or call with any questions. We hope to hear from you!
