Peace - Owner Comment: : My brother calls our property, a little 'peace' of paradise. The silence all around is broken by the songs of birds, hearing swans flying by, cricket calls in the evenings, and the sound of waves lapping the beach. Sunsets over the lake are spectacular and many enjoy it around the large fire pit on the beach. Thank you for considering our home for your vacation. We pray for each of our renters to have a re-creating, wonderful, and joy filled time while staying on our property. Sincerely, Valerie Porter

Married to my wonderful husband for 37 years. We have 5 grown children and 2 darling grandsons and one baby granddaughter.
Valerie Porter purchased this house in 1982
Why Valerie Porter chose Cheboygan
This home is so comfortable, quiet, and on the beach of Lake Huron. It is surrounded by 50 foot trees and secluded.
What makes this house unique
Besides being secluded, it's only a 15 minute drive to the ferries of Mackinac Island, 2 minutes to shopping, movie theatre, and lots of water activities.
Guestbook comments from the owner
Thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful home. The home was even more than we imagined, we were so comfotable. We loved that the early risers could get coffee and sit and talk in the family room off the garage while the others slept. The dining room was perfect for eating together and playing Catch Phrase at night. We were able to sit at the patio table Saturday and watch the many boats and the water fowl. Tasted wine at Nicholas Winery, saw the dam and watched boats go through the lock. The girls even got to do some shopping while the guys checked out the brewery. We had a great time.
