Unsurpassed views of 14 thousand foot peaks and the continental divide while living in luxury. Far enough away from the city to get the true feel of the Rocky Mountains yet close enough to enjoy city activities. The clear mountain air and freedom from light pollution provides amazing star gazing. Truly spectacular home and location!
Our home was designed by a National Renewable Energy Laboratories engineer and featured on local TV stations. numerous engineering, design and architectural associations have toured the home for its green features.
Very relaxing. The view is awe inspiring. The home itself is comfortable with everything needed. The owner met us, gave us a short tour, and made us feel right at home. Our family reunion/vacation here was perfect (3 couples, one infant). At the end of our vacation as we discussed the highlights, the vacation home was at the top of everyone's list. We enjoyed picnics on the patio, stargazing, s'mores made by the fire pit, abundant and varied wildflowers, the QUIET, sunrises and sunsets, and the majestic mountains of the Continental Divide. When or if you ever tire of this amazing place, there is plenty to do nearby as well. We hiked to St. Mary's Glacier (sledding in July!), took the scenic route to Estes Park and drove Trail Ridge Road through RMNP, took the Georgetown Loop Railroad/Mine Tour, hiked to nearby lakes, visited Breckenridge. Awesome beauty all around, very relaxing.
Pictures do not do this house or the view justice, it is absolutely breathtaking. We spent three nights here, and it definitely was not enough! The house was spotless, and the owner of the property was so kind. I definitely recommend taking his green tour, as it is fascinating how this house runs off the grid. Do yourself a favor and get beau jo's pizza, so delicious! St. Mary's glacier is not far from the house and is an easy hike with beautiful scenery. I also recommend driving up Mt. Evan's, the weather was a bit crazy but it was so amazing! Can't wait to come back to Colorado, or perhaps even move there :)
We are a group of 6 friends from Minnesota and loved every minute of our trip to Colorado! This home is amazing with spectacular, everchanging views! The home is beautiful, clean and well-maintained and had everything we needed. Idaho Springs is a nice town with lots of fun shops and great restaurants - we went to Beau Jo's Pizza, Tommyknocker Brewery and Azteca and would recommend all of them. Spent 1 day in Vail and Breckenridge shopping and sight-seeing. We also drove up to Echo Lake which was a great place for a picnic. Mt. Evans road was closed due to snow at that time of year so weren't able to drive up there. Always so nice to come home after a day out and relax in front of the wood-burning stove with a glass of wine and our feet up, sharing stories of our day together. Also loved the "secret trail" to the cemetery that the owner Mike showed us! We'd recommend a 4-wheel drive vehicle for the road up to the house. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!
What a great house. Stunningly beautiful. Such Peaceful surroundings. Great Mountain Views and centrally located to many attractions. Mt Evans, Red Rocks Amphitheater, Loveland Pass, Guanella Pass, many hiking trails, outlet shopping, many mining towns to explore. The best 2 weeks ever. Relax and unwind in this amazing green mountain home. I can't wait to go back. Two weeks wasn't enough time to do all there is to do. Such a beautiful area.
The owners are super nice people. Really want you to have a great time. Answer any questions you may have.
There's a hummingbird who would come and visit us each morning as we ate our breakfast outside. Quite a special moment.
What a spectacular setting! Owners met us at the bottom of the mountain and took us up to their home. They provided an excellent tour of the property and made sure that we had everything we needed. Perfect place to stay for our family of 5. Beautiful views, perfect seclusion and the house had everything we needed and wanted. Couldn't ask for anything better!!
What a wonderful home this is. Views, fire pit, kitchen is heaven and open layout so you can visit, cook, play, and enjoy outside as well as inside. You can feel the "welcome" the minute you walk in, Kids went hiking, and I took grand kids to the park in Idaho Springs and returned to have fun around the fire pit and eat dinner and smores! Beautiful soaking tub, bedrooms are private and quite. A beautiful place for special times.
