Reproduction antique Cape Cod house is centrally located in the heart of the traditional, lobstering community of Round Pond. An accurate reproduction of an historic home located in Massachusetts, the house was built in the 1970's with all the charm of an old home but has all the modern amenities and comforts. Just outside the door is Round Pond Harbor with working lobstering boats as are boat/kayak launching ramps, fishing, crabbing and swimming from the dock. Down at the wharf you can watch the sail and motorboats and lobstering activities as you enjoy fresh-from Muscongus Bay lobster, clams and oysters that are caught daily. Afterwards, walk over to and stop in at the Granite Hall, the general store, for ice cream, penny candy and local gift items. Also, plan to walk the ocean shoreline and hunt for treasures in the peaceful and quiet tidal pools.
Home is comfortably furnished with three bedrooms all with new mattresses (2 with double beds and 1 with 2 twin beds),2 full baths (take a bath in the antique clawfoot tub), eat-in kitchen that seats 6, dining room, and bright, 2-story spacious living room area that was once used as an artist gallery. Open the windows and enjoy the cool breeze from off the water. Take your morning coffee onto the large deck that overlooks a preserved wildflower meadow and the harbor. It is perfect for relaxing, reading, watching the butterflies and purple martins or just enjoying the view. In-town activities including geocaching, walking, biking, sailing, hiking, outstanding Anchor Inn restaurant, Canoe and kayak rentals, antique shops and art galleries.
For those days when you might want to stay close to home or intouch with the office, we do have cable tv and internet connectivity.
Round Pond Village is located in Lincoln County along the peaceful mid coast region of Maine, on the Pemaquid Peninsula and only 15 minutes from Damariscotta, a charming New England village with gift shops and antiques, great seafood restaurants, boutiques and art galleries. A few miles away by car (although this is a great bike ride) is New Harbor, where you can hop on a ferry to Monhegan Island, go on a puffin or whale-watching cruise, or continue on to the Pemaquid Lighthouse (featured on the Maine quarter), Pemaquid Beach and Fort William Henry in the Colonial Pemaquid Historical Site.
If you are looking for a daytrip, Boothbay is 45 minutes South while, 90 minuts away, are Portland (home of the Portland SeaDogs minor league baseball team) or Camden which both offer a wide variety of activities for every age.

We spend as much time as possible in Round Pond for family vacations but as our children have gotten older and much busier, we cannot get to Round Pond as much as we used to.
The Owner purchased this cottage in 2000
Round Pond is a very traditional lobstering community where visitors can experience the best that Maine has to offer - a fabulous community, great seafood, outdoor and water-related activities and absolutely beautiful surroundings. If you are here on the Fourth of July, don't miss the parade!
When we are lucky enough to be here, we spend much of our time right in Round Pond. We like to fish, crab, swim and boat but find time each day to relax on the deck or down on the harbor docks just enjoying the beauty of Round Pond.
My family has been vacationing in Round Pond for 20+ years, but this was our first time renting the Harborview Cottage. The house was so spacious yet quaint--it is truly a gorgeous home. The location of the home is also amazing--very central--a 30 second walk from ice cream and a five minute walk from the pier (what more could you need?)! The back patio had a breath-taking view of the harbor to sit, relax, and watch the sunset. This home was such a comfortable retreat for my family and we really enjoyed everything it had to offer. I highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone looking for a comfortable and authentic Round Pond experience :)
What a delightful and spacious place to stay! The house is charming and very comfortable, very clean and well equipped. The owners were very pleasant to work with and responded to any questions or concerns right away. We would highly recommend it for a family or a couples. The area is great and the view of the water a bonus. Very good seafood restaurant a few steps away and also a country store with an ice cream shop.
I highly recommend staying at this house in Round Pond. Our vacation was perfect and much of that had to do with looking forward to returning to this house after our daily outings. The house was very comfortable and spacious. All appliances were working. Note the only minor negatives were: kitchen does not have a dishwasher and the beds could use newer mattresses. The house was so clean when we arrived, I was very impressed. The house is located only steps away from the pier where we bought live lobsters each night for less than $5.00/lb. and the Anchor Inn restaurant that serves very good seafood dishes. The town of Round Pond doesn't really exist, it has a small country store wonderful for kids and gifts....but you are only a short drive to local towns that are so charming and not full of tourists. We would return to this house and would recommend it to anyone that wants to get away from the hustle and bustle- the setting is truly serene.
We stayed this Fall in mid September. The area is beautiful and quiet yet very handy to all the wonderful amenties the Damariscota area offers. The house was everything we wanted... and needed. Very unique and stylish and totally comfortable. The deck is huge and provided a great place to start the mornings and end the days. There were just 4 of us... but the house is rated for 6 and would easily handle that. Our "hosts" were very good at providing information and promptly returned our deposit. They were appreciative of a few very minor suggestions and I am sure anyone reading this review should look into this property further. The lobster pond was a short walk away and I give this place an A-1 rating. You just can't lose on this one
