5 Bedrooms, 3 Full Baths, 2 Kitchens, 2 Living Rooms, Large Boat Dock
Beautiful Lake Gaston Waterfront. A welcome basket of wine and snacks is waiting for you! 5 Bedrooms (1-K, 3-Q, 2-T), 3 full baths (each with hair dryer), 2 fully equipped kitchens, 2 living rooms, 2 decks, large screened porch, over-sized patio, laundry room with washer and dryer, concrete drive, 2-slip boat house, dock, 2 jet ski Lifts. Extra privacy, because the property is two full lots, one of which is empty. Bring your boat or jet skis and dock them at the boat dock and jet ski lifts, or rent them at a nearby marina. No bridges or trundles to navigate through...just off the main lake in a small protected cove. Kids can play in the water right at the dock with no worries of boat traffic. Plenty of space to catch some rays on the dock or catch tons of fish. Roast marshmallows in the fire pit. Enjoy coffee on the screened porch or patio. Plenty of space for the whole family, or multiple families, to enjoy themselves. If you are a single family or smaller group looking for a more cozy feel, everyone staying on one floor works well, and yet plenty of room to not feel cramped. (Sorry ... no pets.)
The lake is very large - 36 miles long, and our home is right in the middle at buoy 18...so you can go 18 miles east to the Roanoke Dam or 18 miles west to the Kerr Lake Dam. There are several restaurants, stores, and marinas for gas, food, groceries, ice cream, pizza or to just feed the large carp at the Morningstar Marina....lots of fun for the kids! Under ten minutes by water to the nearest marina and public boat ramp.
This was my first time visiting Lake Gaston and I can't wait to come back, especially to this house! I live in Virginia and stayed in the house over Memorial Day Weekend. We had 5 total people in the house and had more than enough room to have 5 more. There is a full main level and a full lower level, easily enough room for two families or a larger group of friends to stay comfortably. The five of us had more than enough room, but the house still felt cozy. In the mornings, we enjoyed drinking coffee, catching up, or reading a book on the screened-in patio. The afternoon was spent on the dock at the boat house, or we had a boat for the weekend and went out to explore the rest of the lake. We had a wonderful time and are looking forward to coming back to this bright, cheery, and (most importantly!) clean house with our family and maybe a few friends next time!
We had 15 adults at this beautiful lake house for a birthday - end of summer celebration! I can't say enough good things about the home and it's owner Brandie! We had plenty of room for everyone, towels and linens were supplied, and the house was clean and had practically everything we needed for cooking and cleaning! This was actually our second stay in this lake home and we made LOTS of additional good memories with great friends! If you're looking for a colorful place to spend your lake life week or weekend, this is the place to be!
Thanks Brandie for allowing us to stay and enjoy your home - AGAIN!

Owner's Response: Thanks Kim!! Glad you enjoyed it sooooo much that you came back to my home again this year for "Williestock" 2012.
Would not recommend renting from this owner. Brandie did not return our pet deposit, even after numerous phone calls and emails. She didnt even have the courtesy to respond to our many calls. We left the house in perfrect condition, and followed all of her instrucitons to the tee for closing up. We have travelled exstensively with our pets (2 house broken, non-shedding, 20 lb mini poodles) to vrbos and homeaway vacation rentals without incident.
The house was nicely decorated. Except for the master bedroom, all other beds were unconfortable. The grill was filthy from previous renters. It took me an hour of scraping and cleaning before we could use it. The screened porch ceiling fan was filthy, and didnt work anyway. Boat lift was broken and unusable, which was a major inconvenience for us.
We noticed that the house was possibly under forclosure, and perhaps the reason for these issues. Renter beware.

Owner's Response: These comments are totally not true...please read previous renters excellent responses. When my cleaning ladies showed up to clean they called to inform me that the screen was out on screen door (possibly caused by the small dogs), which required me to hire a handy man to replace (which caused me not to be able to refund deposit). The boat lifts are not to be used by the renters (due to liability issues...so they were dis-assembled on purpose). Please don't believe everything you read....my previous renters excellent comments and beautiful photos explain it all.
This home is for sale, but NOT in foreclosure...I would consider these comments disrespectful and inappropriate.
This place is well worth the money. It is located in a peaceful cove off of the main lake that is both beautiful and private. The pictures of this property are a very accurate description of what you can expect when staying here. We were struck by the luxury of the house and the interior decorations. More than enough room for our family of seven. It could accommodate twice as much. The care and cleanliness of this house was exemplary. The lawn was cut and the outside was washed and practically cobweb free (which is very difficult to achieve). The dock and the steps leading to it were sturdy and safe. We rented a pontoon boat from Morningstar Marina and really enjoyed it.
Brandie treated us like royalty and made us feel very welcome. We consider this rental a true value and highly recommend it to anyone.
When I first contacted Brandie about booking her house, it was for Memorial Day weekend... Two weeks prior to the trip, our calendar was suddenly free for the entire week. Brandie was very accommodating ad helpful. Everything about this week was wonderful. the cove is quiet and peaceful. The house was perfect for our 13 adults...with room to spare! We have come to the Lake three times a year, for the last two years, and stayed in seven different houses so far, and we rate yours the best of all. Thanks so much for all of your help and cooperation.
Absolutely lovely. The house itself is super cute and has a deck off of the master and off of another bedroom. In between, a stunning screened in porch! We spent the rainy parts of the weekend listening to it and sipping coffee. When the sun came out it was down to the dock! Sunbathing out in the open or hanging out in the shade where the two covered jet lifts live, it was awesome looking out on the water from our serene cubby hole of heaven!
The two kitchens came in handy making multiple appetizers that required different heats and the 4 bathrooms... with 7 girls?! YES PLEASE! Even a cute fire pit on the downstairs patio to enjoy s'mores and girl talk before my friend's big day! And I don't know if it was something in the water, but I have honestly never slept better in my life.
Brandie was an absolute dream to work with. So responsive, so accommodating. She actually saved us when another rental double booked us with their maintenance weekend!
House had pretty much everything someone could need. Few tips;
if you are a Chef and have a favorite knife, bring it. There are knives here but they are used by people who did not buy them ;)
Paper towels and toilet paper may be needed so bring extra.
We had a little struggle turning on the lights because the literature did not specify where the boathouse key was- there is a "stuff" drawer beside the upstairs oven and it's in there.
