We just returned from an amazing stay in Paris.
We were three couples traveling together and this apartment afforded us all an opportunity to have our own private space as well as a large common space to share. The building is relatively quiet and the other tenants didn't seem to mind us coming and going. There is a very small elevator (max 2 people) in the building. We used it to haul our luggage up and down, but other than that we walked the 82 stairs up and down (great exercise and you know you will get plenty of that walking in Paris).
The bedrooms each had large comfortable beds with plenty of closet space and their own en-suite bathrooms (the one room was a little different with the toilet in a semi-common space, but it worked for us). The kitchen was well supplied with pots, pans, dishes, etc. Everything we really needed (except a wine opener - we bought one and left it behind for the next guests). The living area was large and comfortable for sharing our adventures and a bottle of wine. The dinning room table expanded for large meals or could be made smaller for playing cards at. The laundry room was well equipped and worked perfect. There was a computer area with WiFi, but we found the connection to be a bit spotty; a stronger router is probably needed.
All of our communication before and during our stay was very good with lots of good information and support.
We will be recommending this space to all of our friends and family who may be traveling to Paris.
This is a lovely, very spacious apartment, which literally has everything! It is perfect for 3 couples, with each having a private bedroom and bath. In addtition there is an entry hall, living room, dining room, kitchen with dishwasher and full sized refrig, computer room, and laundry with full sized washer and dryer. It is spotlessly clean and well furnished. We were greeted by an associate of the owner who showed us how to operate the various machines, etc. He was very easy to contact whenever we had a question throughout the week. In the dining room we found a beautiful bouquet, bottle of wine and croissants. The kitchen is very well equiped with dishes, etc., as well as coffee, dish and laundry soap, various spices, olive oil, and a few things left by the previous tenants (milk and cheese). The location couldn't be better - right across from d'Orsay, walking distance to many sights, and the metro/rer a couple blocks away. We highly recommend this apartment!!
We stayed at this apartment the first week of July 2010. It's just renovated spotless, and fabulous...just like the pictures! We were welcomed at the apartment with croissants, wine, and Evian by Clara. She showed us the apt, and told us about the area, how to get around, the metro as well as how to operate the A/C (heatwave that week), and appliances. The apartment is large and very spacious. The appliances and kitchen are brand new. It was stocked with very helpful items like paper products, detergent, and things that aren't usually included in a rental, and are a pain to buy for 1 or 2 weeks. Three very large bedrooms with king sized beds and full baths! Plush robes in the bathrooms. Plenty of storage space for 2 weeks worth of gear. The whole apartment is beautifully done. Very comfortable, spacious, and tasteful! It also has a lift (though small) which is helpful for those that aren't able to walk 4 flights of stairs...and for your luggage!
The location is great....Out the window you see Musee D' Orsay across the narrow street. The Sofriere Metro is 3 short blocks away, and the Musee D' Orsay RER metro train is at the end of the block, with 1 stop to Notre Dame one way, and 3 stops to Tour Eiffel or 6 stops to Versailles the other way. Louvre is across the river by walking bridge....less than 10 min. Shops for whatever you need for the apt within 2 blocks and good reasonably priced restaurants as well. We ate at two cafes on Rue du Bac within a block, and both were great!
Clara, from the apartment, arranged a car and driver to take us around town, and on another day to the airport on our departure (well worth it for our group) for much less than we could arrange it on our own. I would highly recommend this if your group if flying out of GDG airport. The service from the owners was exemplary. They were always available if we had a question about the apt. or the city.....very helpful!
Our family had a great stay, and highly recommends this property.
Prés on the left bank, this is the heart of Paris fashion, galleries, antique shops, traditional market streets and restaurants. Visit markets, ancient churches, shops and clothing boutiques, antiques and art galleries, fabulous restaurants, elegant tea shops and cafés where in another century writers and philosophers met. The apartment is just a short walk from the pedestrian streets of Saint Germain and from the famous 'Cafe Flore' and 'Les Deux Magots'. As well as the Musée Rodin and the Musée d'Orsay, the Luxembourg Gardens and its museum are in Saint Germain. From this incredible neighborhood you can walk to most Parisian sites on both the left and the right bank, and if public transportation is your choice, there are many Métro lines and buses that come through the area.
Just around the corner from your apartment, on rue du Bac and rue de Verneuil, you will find all your fresh produce and shopping needs.
