Watch eagles soar and trout jump from this one of kind 3,000 sq ft home on one of the Poconos' premier sporting rivers. This house has it all: sun-drenched great room with floor to ceiling windows; an open space floor plan made for family and friends to enjoy together; and an inviting kitchen with modern conveniences. Sit on the screened porch and watch the kids play in the protected backyard or go for a long walk/bike ride along the historic 'Tow Path' road. Within 20 minutes of the house you will find outfitters offering white water rafting, paintball and horse back riding. There is also incredible antique shopping in local towns such as Hawley, Honesdale and Narrowsburg. Skiing at Big Bear is only fifteen minutes away. In the evening, enjoy a meal together seated around a huge wooden table, retire to the entertainment room featuring a 52in high def TV, pool table, ping-pong and high-speed Internet access or relax in well maintained, six person outdoor hot tub.
Fishing Paradise: : This house features 150ft of riverbank property on the majestic Lackawaxen River, voted Pennsylvania's 'River of the Year' for 2010. This is truly a wildlife paradise. As described on fly fishing connection's website: 'Feeding into the Delaware River, the Lackawaxen ... is well known for its population of wild browns and rainbows. This large river consists of beautiful swift pools, followed by short runs, rifts, and pocket water. The good-sized boulders scattered throughout the river, the overhanging trees, and deep pools help provide trout with a comfortable home. This, in turn, provides anglers with a great place to fish. Many anglers are surprised at the number of fish in this river. Fish seem to be located in every rift, run, and pocket; due in part to the wild population and the thousands of fish that are stocked each year. Many people argue that with the exception of the upper Delaware, it is, or could be, the best tail-water in Pennsylvania.
Area Attractions: : In addition to water sports and fishing, there are numerous activities for the whole family, including Costas Family Fun Park; Lake Wallenpaupack; antiquing in nearby Hawley, Honesdale and Narrowsburg; the Zane Grey Museum; eagle watching, the Minisink Revolutionary War Battlegrounds. The slopes at Ski Big Bear resort are only fifteen minutes away. Give us a call and we can provide numerous links to local sights.

The poconos offer year round fun, fishing, hunting, hiking and skiing.
I wanted to send you a short note to thank you and your wife for allowing us to spend a great holiday weekend in your home. We had great weather, plenty of food, fun, and beverage. The home and property were exactly what we hoping to find , spacious, quiet, and private. Needless to say, we all enjoyed our stay tremendously. Thank you both again... maybe we can do it again next year ?

The location and ground of the house were wonderful. The fishing was terrific.
The house itself could use quite a bit of sprucing up. There was torn wallpaper, mold in the bathroom, broken light fixtures and the carpet was urine stained. I contacted the owner and he provided a partial reimbursement and assurances that all the issues would be corrected. We would return to same property based on location and size if things were tidied up a bit.
the home delivered everything that was advertised. it was very easy to work with the owner and we enjoyed our mountain vacation. Many options for the kids and enough room where last minute guests can easily be accommodated. If you wade in the river, be sure to appreciate the changing depths (release from the dam). I highly recommend this property, especially for families.
Our group of friends gathered for a week to rest and relax together. We had one dog, 2 kids, 4 adults, our bicycles and lots of food. This home provided a perfect location to cook, enjoy nature and unwind! The kids loved the game room upstairs with the pool table, TV and assortment of video game systems. We did find a game that they could play rated for everyone on the beautiful TV. The hot tub was nice and hot at 103 and had just been cleaned before we arrived. We enjoyed the towns of Hawley and Honesdale for a change from the biking which we did along the road behind the home and in Hawley to the waterfall.
Pros: Beautiful location and home with lots of room for gathering. There were enough pots and pans for our group to make a variety of food. We also enjoyed the grill. Michael was very attentive to problems like low paper products while we were there. Great hiking and biking in the area even for people with restricted ability.
Cons: The week lease was actually for 141 hours of the 168 hour week, 7 partial days with 6 nights.
Notes for renters: If your group is larger than 6 you might want to bring extra plates and utensils. Also because of the tick problem in PA over the summer, we had to check the dog carefully each time we returned to the house even if she just sat on the back porch so we did not get to enjoy a fire. If you go to Honesdale try the Trackside Grill for interesting pictures of the town and history and Days Bakery!
Overall we had a wonderful time!
We stayed here in mid August. The house was clean and the kids loved the upstairs game room! House location offers best of both worlds. World class trout fishing right out front and just a short drive to lake, boat rentals, rafting, adventure park and grocery stores. Fire pit with free fire wood was a nice touch. Gas grill and hot tub a bonus for sure. House is roomy with lots of bedrooms.
Mike was just awesome. He made sure we had everything to ensure we had a great vacation. Answered our numerous questions, made sure we had plenty of new tubes so kids could ride the river and even made the long drive on a Sunday to fix an Internet issue left by a previous renter. Talk about above and beyond- thanks again Mike!
Kids had a blast! We did indeed see a bald eagle soaring at the river and dad pulled in a 25 inch rainbow! In August!!! Great place!
Overall C rating, but not because of the area itself. On positive side, kayaking on the river was absolutely wonderful and the house itself was fine. On the negative side, it does not, by any stretch of the imagination, sleep 14! Eight people is the maximum, since the blow up bed had a leak in it and the couches are couches, not beds. The house is riverfront, but I think it should be clear that the road to Hawley runs between the house and the river and the river access is actually a break in the guard rail leading down a rather steep bank to the water. Little annoyances, like the hot tub being on economy mode when we arrived were tolerable, but did seem petty. In fact, economy mode describes the week perfectly: not enough paper products, old food left in fridge from previous renters, TV on it's last legs, shabby towels etc.,etc. So, overall, an OK renting experience but a great area!
Great place to do anything from unwind to hike and fish. The place has ample room for family and friends. Appreciate the game room upstairs and the Kitchen/living room area where you can cook and socialize with your friends at the same time with great views of the river!
The house is showered by sunlight every morning, a perfect get away from the hectic busy NYC life.
I will definitely be back and recommend it to friends
