It's time to get back to 'The Front Porch' of this pink and turquoise adorable island bungalow. Enjoy sea breezes on the beach just 8 homes and a shaded path away or head the other direction to the calm of the inter-coastal waterway. Enjoy your meals on the screened lanai with views of lush foliage and a quaint white picket fence. Inside you will find a newly updated beach theme continued with cool tile floors throughout and immaculate bathrooms remodeled to include granite countertops and brand new fixtures. The light, airy kitchen is well appointed with everything you need to enjoy your vacation cooking. However, the free island trolley stops at the end of the street and can whisk you away to the many island eateries and more. You are within walking/biking distance to live entertainment, the two most famous eateries “The Sand Bar” beach restaurant and “Ginny and Jane’s IGA”-- a unique experience, an ice cream shop and so much more. Both large bedrooms have windows to the private back of the house and ceiling fans cool every room.

Our pool was installed in the Spring of 2010. Be one of the first to enjoy your own private oasis of sparkling water and sun surrounded by fruit trees and swaying palms. The side and back yard of this home are surrounded by a privacy fence that fully encapsulates your experience. Yet, when you tire of all this heavenly privacy, you can always head back to the wide and long, Spanish tiled Front Porch to sit and sip and enjoy the camaraderie of a beautiful neighborhood.

Anna Maria is a wedding destination, an island untouched by commercialism, a place where bicycles abound and the pace is slow. All the shops and restaurants are local and afford you the opportunity to treasure hunt. We think you will find “The Front Porch” to be an island treasure and we hope you will return often.

About The Owner

The Darbyshires have been coming to Bradenton, Florida and Anna Maria since the early 1980's and have owned a condominium in Wildewood Springs since 1985. We purchased this home with our daughter's family in 2010 to both use and rent. Our families hail from the midwest and are all educators with degrees from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Due to the number of years spent in the area, we have many connections and lots of tried and true information and experience to help you have an ideal vacation.

Why The Owner chose Holmes Beach

We chose Anna Maria Island and Holmes Beach for the laid back old Florida charm. We love the many activities and amenities. There's always a festival!! Bikes, kayaks and shells galore. The speed limit is 25 so you see segways, golf carts, scooters and more. You even have groceries on the island so you don't have to leave. And as Kenny Chesney says, 'No shirt, no shoes, no problem.' Happy, sunny, healthy people abound. We got quite tired of all the 'YOU CAN'T DO's' in the inland complexes. Here there is freedom and fun!

Our family of 4 (two college aged children) enjoyed this house to spend some time together. It was perfect for our needs. Two full bathrooms, private pool area, walking distance to the beach, and the use of two bikes. Property was clean and on a quiet residential street. There is a connected property but there is still a very private feel both front and back. We were looking for a nice beach, with no high rise hotels, and clear water. AMI delivered and this house was perfect!

Great location - a short walk to the beach. Fantastic private area with a pool. The place was spotlessly clean when we arrived. Had a fantastic time - I believe our two dogs had a better time then we did!!!

Exactly what we were looking for!

My kids still talk about "the pink house." We were looking for a simple, clean beach house to relax in...to enjoy each other before our new baby arrives. The pink house had everything that this family needed to feel at home (but on the beach!). My kids ate lunch on the lanai each day -- such a great space. The pool - absolutely perfect. It truly is 100% private - landscaping is beautiful. The only reason why my kids agreed to leave the beach was because that meant it was "pool time!" I sat in front of the jets to massage my back while my boys enjoyed the rest of the pool...it was perfect. We left behind a lot of sand toys, a beach chair, a beach umbrella and a boogie board so be sure to add that to your list of amenities! ...you gave us so much more in return. Thanks for opening up your pink beach house in paradise to us. We will be back!

Six Months in Paradise

Living in Paradise for 6 months: My wife and I found “The Front Porch” to be the perfect Anna Maria Island get away. We had a great location for an easy walk to the most beautiful white sand beaches of the Gulf, or just biking around the island and to nearby shops & stores. We also enjoyed some local activities including island festivals that seemed to occur almost every week where we took full advantage of some great local foods, music and arts & crafts. The lanai and pool area was a great touch where we enjoyed evening cocktails with friends & neighbors.
