A taste of the 'Real' Florida, along the Homosassa River, west central Florida coastal town, where manatees come in for the winter. This River is fed by the Homosassa Springs 64 million gallons of fresh water per day, and traveling 9 miles out to the Gulf of Mexico through breathtaking scenery. Historically, this waterside town has operated as a large fishing industry; and though it has decreased over time, seafood is still a big part of Homosassa. Many new luxurious homes proudly stand along this pristine waterway. Come relax waterside as you curl up to a good book & watch the sunset. Catch some action as you fish the snapper, red fish, grouper & mullet. Swim and snorkel the crystal clear waters refreshing 72' degree temperature. Enjoy s'mores over the waterside fire pit. Busch Gardens, Lowry Zoo, and beautiful white sand beaches of the Tampa area are less than an hrs drive.
Also the central Florida attractions Disney, Universal, and Sea World are a short drive of 1.5 hrs away.
The property was well maintained and well appointed. The kitchen had everything and we had only to buy our food. This house is well situated on the water as well as close to town. It functioned extremely well with our family of five and the in- laws. We slept on separate floors and had ample space. The kayaks were great- many manatees were just up the canal and some even came up to the dock. Highly recommend.
Our stay at Lovell's landing was in one word "fantastic"! Bill and Kristi thought of everything here. Our family really needed some time together and get away after the loss of our father.....this house was just what we were looking for. Fishing, crabbing, kayaking, volleyball, horseshoes, cooking out every night....and of course marshmallows over the fire pit. The house is beautifully maintained, clean, and very spacious. The kids loved the cubby area to sleep. There was 9 of us and had plenty of room. The owners were very gracious with us booking only a few days prior to staying. I would highly recommend this property to anyone....but want to keep it a secret so we can rent it again and again. I have rented multiple homes on HomeAway and this is at the top of my list.
This is our 6th year scalloping and we always stay a long weekend with friends and family in a very small cabin in a RV Park. Well, we decided this year to stay for a week and wanted something bigger for family to come in from out of town. WOW!!!! Bill and Kristi's place exceeded our expectations and we will definately make this our new place to stay. Pictures are exactly what it looks like plus more, makes me want to come home and redecorate. I cannot believe how close the springs are, I paddled on my raft a few times:)
Bill also told us the best place to find scallops and we had our best year yet. With the accomodations of the awesome kitchen I was able to whip up my favorite recipe with the scallops.
We cannot wait to come back to Lovell's Landing next year!!!!
The pictures and descriptions don't do this home justice. The home is beautiful, the furnishings are exquisite, and the amenities are endless. Bill and Kristi have thought of everything a vacationer could ever imagine. As mentioned by the previous review, I don't normally write reviews, but then again, I've never seen a vacation home with the hospitality this home affords. It's a little slice of paradise. Would recommend to anybody.
We have been time-sharing for over 20 years so we thought renting a house from a private owner would never be able to compare. BUT we were amazed how beautiful this house & property is!! It far exceeded our expectations!! Opening the walk-in pantry and seeing all the supplies and food was something we never expected. We have never exchanged for a timeshare that included it’s own private yard with kayaks, a jon-boat, a stone fire pit, and volleyball net, while on the water and the woods at the same location!! We had our four teenage grandchildren (aged 13-19) and thought they would think they were too big for the cubbies, but they loved them. The steps to the main living area were a challenge for the retirees, and the house could use a half bath on the ground floor. But there were so many extras, it seems frivolous to mention it. The entire place was outstandingly clean and supplied. Each room looks like a page out of an interior decorator's magazine. We felt like we had escaped to the wilderness, but the grocery stores were only one mile away. What an exquisite place for the kids to be active while I relaxed on the dock. We can’t stop telling everyone how wonderful Lovell’s Landing is. Bill & Kristi, thank you so much for sharing your little piece of paradise with us.
Fantastic place to stay with Manatees in the back garden. Relaxing and comfortable villa, with a great outlook.
