The town of Governors Harbour, one mile away, has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock, or visit the recently restored Haynes Library, which dates from 1897, for the weekly coffee hour for foreign residents and tourists. . Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, and a medical clinic. Friday Night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.

Eleuthera is famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is completely safe any time of the day or night. Enjoy the rare experience of picking up hitch-hikers and leaving your keys in the car wherever you go. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. You can rent power boats, sailboats, sea kayaks, bikes. You can have a charter captain take you out for excursions of various types. There is excellent sightseeing as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, a bottomless ocean hole, many unique beaches, historic churches and 19th century homes, and small villages to explore. We hope you will enjoy Bella Luna, and experience all our island has to offer.

Great Location

  • 5 of 5

Being a long time home owner on the island we needed an extra home for a wedding we had on the island. We chose Bella Luna for its proximity to the wedding and Governor's Harbour.

The home exceeded all expectations.

Bella Luna is a combination of a wonderful quiet location with a home that is well kept up and modern.

A small private beach and kayaks to go along with the house.

I highly recommend the place.

Just what the doctor ordered!

The Bella Luna was a gorgeous place to stay, both the home itself as well as the location and surroundings. Trevor and Linda have built and furnished a beautiful and comfortable home away from home. Sitting in the chairs near the beach in the mornings and evenings provide the perfect setting for the relaxation that those visiting Eleuthera are likely looking for. My two adult children and I had a wonderfuil time at the Bella Luna and in Eleuthera.

Our second year at Bella Luna was even better!

  • 5 of 5

If you like privacy, comfortable accommodations, ultraclean facilities, swimming in the warm waters of Bahama Sound and sunsets that, most evenings, provide beautiful entertainment then you should consider vacationing at Bella Luna. This year we stayed for three weeks and we were not ready to leave when our vacation ended. Owners, Trevor and Linda Pyfrom greet new arrivals, provide a brief "guided tour" of your new "home" and, since they live nearby, they're available to answer questions or to provide guidance on local services, restaurants, etc. Otherwise, they are just somewhat distant neighbors. Our days started with breakfast on the porch while watching for any passing aquatic life--occasional rays, sometimes schools of fish (the water is so clear they're quite visible). Bella Luna is located near the N- S mid point of Eleuthera so it is about an hour's drive from either North or South portions of the island--and there are many out of the way "nooks and crannies" worthy of exploration. One of the real treats (at least for us) was listening to the waves as we fell asleep each night. The house is very well organized spatially and has a full compliment of what one needs for preparing and storing food and supplies. Everything is very clean! We are not "TV people" but there is a rather new flat screen TV available complete with multi-channel service and a DVD player for your entertainment. We find the quiet of the location a perfect background for us to catch up on our reading. A new hammock near the water is a great place to hide out for a good read or maybe just a nap. The kayaks (two single and one double seat) are efficient vehicles for exploring the local waters. All in all, Bella Luna is a wonderful experience. Each year it gets more difficult for us to leave it.

paradise

We spent 2 weeks at Bella Luna and it was not long enough. Linda and Trevor are wonderful hosts and I wish we had gotten to spend more time with them as they have a wonderful history with the island. We frequently use VRBO to find accommodation and I must say this is the best equipped rental we have ever stayed in. The house is very well appointed and the attention to detail is obvious and appreciated. Some highlights we found on the island was Ida and Dave's restaurant in Palmetto point. The Friday night fish fry in town is not to be missed. Tippy's is great for a dining night out but is expensive but well worth it. The only challenge we found on a daily basis is finding fresh produce but that only adds to the adventure and we found a few local produce stands that were amazing. The locals are some of the friendliest people we have ever encountered. Overall the stay was great and Bella Luna the perfect place to stay. The beach and water access is wonderful and so very private. It is a great shallow area of the sea so perfect with children. Thanks again to Linda and Trevor for making our stay so relaxed and enjoyable.

Great house on a lovely island

  • 5 of 5

We had such a great time for our two weeks Thanksgiving trip with family. The house was great for kids, parents and grandmother - easy access to water and lovely sunsets. Linda and Trevor and the managment company were easy to work with and were very hospitable. Linda and Trevor, the owners, live next door and are very helpful but also respectful of visitors' privacy. It was a great location near everything in Governors Harbour and the bay is simply lovely from morning until the full moon at night. Just a great vacation. Thanks again to Linda and Trevor. We will be back very soon.

Absolutely Perfect Family Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Bella Luna is such an amazing property! My husband and I brought our two boys (4 and 1 1/2) for 9 days and it was the best vacation to date. The house had everything we needed, was incredibly clean and comfortable. We would go out exploring in the morning and then spend every afternoon at the house. We really could have stayed at the house all day, every day. The bay is quiet, we only saw a few other people out on the water the entire time. We loved taking the kayaks out and exploring, swimming at the beach, checking out all the amazing sea creatures right at the shore (star fish, eagle ray, needle fish, conch, etc.). The house was perfectly located for us as it was easy to run to Governor's Harbour when we needed water or milk, plus it is really close to some other stunning beaches and delicious restaurants. Trevor and Linda are gracious and wonderful hosts and Juliana was so helpful in planning our trip. I highly, highly recommend this property when visiting Eleuthera. We can't wait to go back!
