LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! What makes the Shore of Maui so appealing is its prime location. South Kihei, the south western central part of the Valley Isle, has the least rainfall of anywhere on Maui.
Incredible GARDEN LEVEL OCEAN VIEW suite facing west, located directly across from Cove Park Bay. From the pool and most of the makai side, (oceanside), you have a MILLION DOLLAR UNOBSTRUCTED VIEW of incredible sunsets and the neighboring Islands of Kaho'olawe, Molokini, and Lana'i. Directly in front is Cove Park the premier surfing and paddle boarding area of Kihei and West Maui. Adjoining Cove Park to the north is Kalama Park, a large ocean front park (about 4 blocks long) that has expansive grass areas, BBQ's, play ground, roller skating rink, skate park, tennis courts and much more. Take surf board or paddle board lessons within 2 blocks. Just south of Cove Park is Charlie Young Park and Kamaole Beach I, II, and III. Fully tiled pool and jacuzzi adjoin a 22 ft. covered tiled eating area, three gas BBQs and the tennis court, all within 100 ft of the Pacific Ocean.

Our condo air conditioning has been upgraded with an ULTRA QUIET SPLIT AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM PROVIDING INDEPENDENT REMOTE CONTROLLED A/C IN BOTH THE LIVING ROOM AND BEDROOM. Other upgrades are: 18' floor tile diagonal pattern throughout, expanded kitchen and new counter tops, new thermopane lanai door and bedroom windows and frames, which when closed, keeps more heat out and the coolness in. Living room, kitchen, bedroom and bath all have ceiling fans. New oak front door with key-less coded entry and locking security screen door. Flat screen HD TV's (46' in the living room and 24' in the bedroom) and free private and secure wireless internet in our unit. New (2013) living room furniture. New (2012) fully tiled shower with bamboo glass enclosure. Our parking lot was completely repaved October of 2014. Park right in front with direct access to the condo.
There are NO STAIRS to encounter and the entry to the pool area is ramped for wheelchair access.
We manage our own condo and our housekeeping staff is second to none. #122 is always fresh and clean for arriving guests. NO EXTRA CLEANING FEES.
We continue to make improvements, as this is our second home, not just a rental unit. We take pride in paying attention to details, having your comfort and satisfaction in mind. This is the third unit at the Shores of Maui that we have owned and remodeled over the past 20 years.
David and Kate McKibben purchased this condo in 2003
Shores of Maui enjoys an unobstructed view of the ocean and 3 adjoining islands. Watch the surfers, paddle boarders, Hawaiian outrigger canoes, humpback whales (seasonal Nov-April) from our lanai, the tennis court or the pool area. The two small beaches directly in front of us have come back over the past several years.
Our housekeeper is the best. #122 is always sparkling clean and fresh for your arrival. NO EXTRA CLEANING CHARGE.
Shores of Maui is a 5 minute walk to a major grocery store, restaurants, and shops. The south end of Cove Park is just 100 feet from our property with two small sandy beaches. We are a small 50 unit complex and people return often to enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Join owners and guests poolside at 5:00 PM each Thursday at the PuPu party.

We loved David and Kate's condo. The location is great, close to amazing swimming / snorkelling beaches, restaurants, grocery stores and shopping. The condo and property were extremely clean and very well kept. The unit is very well equipped with all the comforts of home, it's great having an in suite washer and dryer. The ground floor suite is great when coming and going with supplies, luggage and loading up for beach trips. When we booked the condo we had an issue with our payment and David and Kate were exceptional to deal with and very accommodating. We would love to come back and stay at the Shores of Maui again and would highly recommend this property to anyone planning an amazing Maui vacation.
We had a wonderful time at David and Kate's condo. This is a great location in Kihei- very accessible to food for both people who like to dine out and for those like us who like to get groceries and eat in. All of this in walking distance! We loved walking across the street and watching the sunset every night. If you're a person into board sports (we aren't), there's a great beach for that literally across the street. If you like a more sandy beach, you're just a block away.
The owners made us feel so at home- it was almost like we were family! The only difference- family doesn't keep things this tidy. All of our questions were promptly and thoroughly answered. Everything that we could possibly need and more was in the condo. And if you have to work from your vacation getaway, the internet speed is fabulous.
If you like to snorkel, I'd suggest renting a car. Kihei is very walkable, but good snorkel beaches are easy driving distances away.
The absolute only downside to the unit is the view from the deck- the tennis court is right in front of the unit, so the chain link fence is between the deck and the beach. For the really affordable price and the great condo and wonderful hosts, it was worth it!
We had a great stay at this comfortable, clean and well 'appointed" condo. Everything we needed to know about the unit was labeled clearly making it easy to take care of such a nice property. The location is ideal for access to every activity on the island.
We had a great time at David and Kate's condo. The location was amazing, right across from the beach with access to great restaurants, grocery stores, shops and farmers markets. Sitting on the patio watching the sunset and listening to the ocean waves became a nightly ritual. The ocean views really were awesome!
The condo was spotlessly clean and well stocked with everything we could need. The kitchen was set up for any type of cooking you might do including plastic dishes for the pool an BBQ area.
My favorite thing about the condo were the discreet labels everywhere. I never had to wonder which light switch worked for the kitchen and which one was for the hallway. Because everything was labeled I didn't have to read a giant manual to figure anything out. The labels really made our stay easy. We didn't have to think about a thing and really felt well taken care of! Kate and David thought of everything so that we didn't have to!
This is a magical place. From the moment we walked in, I knew this vacation would be so special. So much more than we imagined. Thank you for everything.
My wife and I took our two boys - one 26 and the other 16 to Maui and stayed here. It was a little tight size wise for two grown boys and us, but other than that it was wonderful! Nice location to surfing, tennis court right out our back door, great pool and BBQ. The people in the unit were super nice too.
If you are looking for a clean and very comfortable place to be able to adventure from, cook your own meals, and enjoy the island, you can't beat it. My wife is especially worried about the cleanliness of where we stay, and she was immediately psyched to see how spotless it was. This place offers you a great location with dry weather, access to stores, restaurants, parks, surf equipment rentals, ocean front, etc. You can go on any number of adventures from there.
Not over-the-top fancy. Just a wonderfully clean, comfortable, nice place to venture out from and come back to for naps and food. It was even great for the nearly daily first aid needs I required from "excessive adventuring."
