We recently stayed in Cottage #6. We were there for 11 days. We have two children; 6 & 11.
My family loved the cottage, the location, the other families staying in the other cottages, the beach, and the pool. The cottage was clean, well stocked with all the necessary kitchen appliances and plenty of bath towels for our family of 4. The beds were amazingly comfortable, as were the pillows. As a matter of fact, our son (the most concerned out of all of us for having a good night's sleep) was so comfortable in his twin bed that he fell asleep almost instantly & stayed asleep all night long, waking refreshed and happy - ready to hit the pool for early morning fun. Both kids loved the fact they each had their own bed in their shared room with plenty of space for their things and a tv to watch kid shows after a long day of beach & family fun.
The cottage is cozy, with a ton of windows to enjoy the terrific Florida sunshine, night breeze and early morning sunrise. The layout makes perfect sense and the decor is inviting and warm. The two porches were great for relaxing, bbq'ing & visiting with neighbors at night. All the little lizards were a riot & my kids got a huge kick out of watching them do their thing while we were there.
The pool is only a few yards away & is the perfect size for families with children. It's only 5 feet deep at its deepest level. It's clean and also has a great deck for lounging in the sun while the kids play.
The beach is only a few feet beyond the pool with a great sand dune for privacy. White sand, sea shells, good fishing and nice swimming abound. We spent many days sitting on the beach with the chairs & umbrella, flying kites, collecting shells, making sand castles and swimming. Other days we spent next to the pool, and at times spent the day going between the two.
Every family we met staying at the other cottages were friendly & welcoming. It felt like we were reuniting w/ old friends. We were truly welcome.
It's an easy walk down the beach for ice cream at the kooky coconut, & an equally easy walk the other way to Sandy's for breakfast. Next to Sandy's is the laundromat. Publix is only 1.5 miles away & has a great selection of gluten free goods.
Some favorite restaurants within walking distance are Slyce Pizza - gluten free so delishious it's impossible to put into words. Next to Slyce is Los Mexicanos w/ fantastic fajitas & great 2 for 1 margaritas.
This cottage is an outstanding value & felt like home. We'll be back!!
