Towers over 55 feet high! Private wildlife reserve. Beaches/ Corcovado/ Wildlife
If you were enthralled with the magic of the Swiss Family Robinson's tree house and wish to create that same travel experience for your family and friends, come stay in our Lapa's Nest Tree House in southern Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula. Our 6 story treehouse rental is just a few kilometers hike from Corcovado National Park, just north of Puerto Jimenez. Five story wonder of exotic tropical hardwoods, bamboo and funky design surprises, is nestled in a 220-acre rainforest near Puerto Jimenez beaches. The moment you are in the tree house’s shadow, “Sombra de Lapa”, you will feel laughter's spell. As you approach, your monkey grins become contagious. Imagination and rekindling begin to reign as you walk up the 45 steps of this unique canopy rental. Wrapped around a 150-foot Guanacaste tree, the design elements flow as if they were leaves on a vine. The child in you takes over and you feel safe and at home high in the canopy. In the morning, you go downstairs, pour yourself a cup of organic Costa Rican coffee, choose your favorite cushy sofa and sit back to watch the show. One by one, your new jungle friends greet you. First there are the howlers--then the toucans, scarlet macaws, hawks, falcons, and parrots until the air is filled with wildlife’s jazz and dance. Everything is open air and you are a mere 10' from hundreds of titi monkeys swinging and munching their way through the forest The intoxicating scent of Lang-Ylan surrounds you as you walk below the canopy with your camera. Your kids will enjoy an up close look at nature and all its extreme oddities here in the tropics. They will hike, climb, meander down the river, swim the secret swimming pools, pick and eat furry exotic fruits. Blondie purchased this house in 1997
Why Blondie chose Puerto Jimenez
The beaches on the OSA are deserted and breath taking. We love being so close but elevated above where cooler breezes prevail and we escape the bugs at the beach which are BRUTAL. And it is cooler up here off the chocolate colored volcanic sands which hold heat. At the reserve, we are where rainforest meets sea and get the cool breezes from the rain forest and not the hot air from that dark sand. No kidding, you CANNOT walk on that sand until you get to the water line. We escape all of that heat.
What makes this house unique
Having over 120+ acres of rainforest and pristine jungle gives us the opportunity of living with nature without the inconveniences of being far to go out. Corcovado National Pak is literally our back yard and guests can hike there with a guide where no other tourists go. We have no neighbors unless you count the wildlife! Therefore, unlike most communities on the OSA peninsula, you get complete and total privacy. But are an easy drive on paved road to town for restaurants, entertainment, gas station, grocery store. The other Osa peninsula vacation lodging is on a VERY rut filled, washboard, no bridges over rivers and expedition style, 4 wheel only roads. Not easy nor quick for going out to dinner. At the reserve you can go out and back with easy access and no bumpy roads. Save the expedition roads for a day trip- you'll see what I mean when you get here! We love feeling totally isolated but being an easy drive to going out. You will too!
Guestbook comments from the owner
Taken from our FlipKey/TripAdvisor review from this guest:
I traveled to Costa Rica for a wedding for 9 days with family & friends. Though you can rent each home individually, we had all of them on the 120 acre reserve. The houses are all on different sides of the property so there was lots of privacy. Had we not been family & friends, we would never have run into other guests! Almost every day we had monkeys & so many birds- I have never seen such an abundance of wildlife- all right there! Everything was included in my trip for the wedding at this Tree House reserve, which made it very convenient! I went zip lining, kayaking, and even went swimming with dolphins! It was all included along with meals. I also had a great experience hiking to a 68 ft. tree, climbing it and finally jumping from it. Overall my experience in Costa Rica is one I will never forget!!!
