Located between the beach communities of South Haven and Saugatuck/Douglas, and the town of Fennville, 'Harvest Country' is home to wineries, art galleries, great dining, a ski area, bike trails, and multiple rivers and lakes for fishing and kayaking. Enjoy farmers markets, town festivals and the beach in the summer along with the gorgeous colors on display in the dense woods and rolling farmland in the fall.

Secluded Riverfront Getaway: Large 4 bedroom, 3 bath contemporary home in a park-like setting, perfect for families or groups.

At the end of a long, private tree-lined paved driveway, this riverfront property with tennis court and screened porch is located in the middle of 30 wooded acres, surrounded by large tracts of land on all sides. The 3800sf two-story home with 2-car garage has two large living areas plus an office, fireplace, three decks, beautiful views from all four large bedrooms (one, with bathroom, on the ground floor), and a 2000sf basement with pool table, ping pong table and extra bedroom. The large updated kitchen with granite countertops, side-by-side refrigerator and gas cooktop/double oven opens onto the family room and dining room. Satellite TV and wireless internet included.

One well-behaved dog is allowed. No cats.

Summer Paradise: The screened porch includes a dining table for 6, patio furniture plus a comfortable outdoor living area. Enjoy the firepit and bird-watching in the back yard, horseshoes, volleyball, bocce and the hammock (all provided), and river views from the decks. Deer, turkeys and other wildlife roam the property.

1800 feet of river frontage. The designated trout stream also has steelhead and salmon running in the fall.

WIthin a 20 minute drive from the house are beaches, golf, the charming towns of South Haven and Saugatuck/Douglas, a winery, farmers markets and you-pick orchards, lakes with boat and kayak rentals, hike and bike trails, fine dining, art galleries and antique markets.

Winter Wonderland: Enjoy the views of the river and snow on the evergreen trees in the winter. The living room has a large wood burning fireplace; firewood provided. The house has two furnaces, one for each floor, and is quite cozy and warm in the winter.

The long driveway and the nearby Kal-Haven trail are great for cross country skiing.

A short drive away is the Bittersweet Ski area, where guests can downhill ski and snowboard; lessons, rentals and daily lift tickets available.

Downtown South Haven has an open-air ice skating rink, open daily - skate rentals available, as well as coffee and hot chocolate next door!

BEAUTIFUL AND RELAXING

I can't say enough about the beautiful landscaping and peaceful surroundings. You can take a stroll down to the river, which you can see from the house or just relax and read a book on the very large, screened in porch (my favorite spot) and the birds, chipmunks and black squirrels are fun to watch. The house is so big you can disappear, if you want. No complaints from my group, we had a marvelous time.

A Definite Crowd-Pleaser

This vacation rental was perfect for our group. The house offered an abundance of space - plenty of room for nine adults to spread out or gather together without ever feeling crowded. The property is very well-maintained, with a great modern kitchen, comfortable living rooms and clean bedrooms. We especially liked the ping-pong table in the basement. Limitless outdoor space for yard games and exploring. (Note that the tennis court isn't really functional, but it's great for wiffle ball and shooting hoops.) The location was also perfect for us - the house is entirely secluded while still being a short, easy drive from Chicago. Holland, South Haven and Fenville are nearby for your restaurant, brewery and grocery shopping needs. Highly recommended.

beautiful home! great for families.

I was just looking to possibly book this house again and realized I never wrote a review after our first stay. We stayed in this house with another family (total - 4 adults, 6 kids) last August and had a WONDERFUL time. I've rented other homes before, but none have been appointed as beautifully as this one. I was especially impressed with the bedding - simply luxurious. I usually don't sleep well on vacation but I slept like a baby during this one. And this house is large. Like I said, we had two families with six children in all and there was enough room for everyone.

The location was great. Very secluded and woodsy. We took long walks in the mornings on quiet dirt roads. There were a lot of mosquitos, but I don't think you can avoid mosquitos when you're in the woods.

South Haven, Douglas and Saugatuck are all reachable within minutes. Even the ride to MIchigan's Adventure (an amusement park) was very doable.

Downstairs in the basement there is a pool table and ping pong table, both of which kept our kids entertained for hours.

All in all, this is the best home that I've rented. It was extremely clean and beautifully furnish - the perfect home away from home. And, the owner was very pleasant and returned our security deposit promptly. I would stay here again and recommend it without hesitation.

Beautiful getaway

This house is really beautiful. We were there for one weekend in March, 2011 and we had a great time, relaxing in this hiding spot that is more than wonderful. You can find all you need in this house, even the games-pool table, tennis table, bicycles etc. were really helpful. Lots of room for dancing, grilling, playing.. I will recommend this to all of you!!!
P.S. Mike, the owner, is a really nice person to deal with....
