Located on a quiet, safe cul-de-sac, the property is sited directly on Taylor's Pond with over 250 feet of pond frontage. View the sunrise from the deck overlooking the pond. (See photos.) Taylor's Pond is a salt water tidal pond that meets Nantucket Sound via Mill Creek--perfect for kayaking, canoeing, or small motor boats. (Local vendors rent kayaks by the week. They deliver too.)

The houses on the Pond are quintessential cape architecture. There are no mega mansions to spoil the mood.

Starting at the house, it's a 1/2 mile walk to Forest Beach (facing south), 2 miles to Harding's Beach (a very popular family beach in Chatham, faces south) and a 4-mile drive to the center of downtown Chatham. Access the water at the property's edge wearing your clogs or shellshoes for kayaking, canoeing or boating, From there, it's a 10-minute kayak ride to a small beach (facing south) that is reachable only by water. A pretty bike path, with a direct and easy run to Chatham center, is only a half mile away.

The house is a 4-season house with central AC and heat. There are three bedrooms and 2 full baths. The master bedroom (queen) and a second bedroom (2 twins) are on the main floor. (See photos) A third bedroom (2 twins) is on the lower level. There is a ping-pong table on the lower level with games and puzzles for rainy or lazy days Property has wireless Internet , a gas grill, and a flat screen t.v. RENTAL IS FOR 4 PERSONS MAXIMUM.

Location, location, location. The house has 250 feet of frontage on Taylor's Pond (a salt water tidal pond connected to Nantucket Sound) with picturesque views of classic Cape Cod architecture.

Solitude and comfort

Absolutely as advertised, a wonderful house with full kitchen and every comfort. The views are sensational, the walking trails and abundance of nature simply delightful. The house is very clean and organized and well-maintained. All systems are in great shape, the house is toasty in this temperature-dropping December climate. The owners are very gracious and helpful and the house is well stocked with tip sheets, menus, how tos, brochures, etc. I would HIGHLY recommend this property to those seeking solitude and beauty, those wanting fresh air and nature, those who want nothing more than to curl up with a good book and nap during the day, those wanting to putter about the kitchen.... in other words, to any of my friends and family. I truly plan to return to this cottage on the pond to heal my body, soul, spirit.

Beautiful setting, great house

Our family of 3 just returned from an amazing week on the Cape. This house was immaculate and centrally located for all the activities we wanted. We rented a kayak and used it every day, launching it from the property. We also explored the bike trail which was a very quick ride, as was the beach. We were able to easily reach the beach by bike and kayak. We really enjoyed just being lazy around the house too! The grounds were nicely manicured and we ate on the deck with hardly any bugs. This house was great for our small family and we hope to return next year!

A Charming Home.. A Wonderful Stay

My husband, 4 year-old son and I stayed at this home for a week in August 2010. It was our first trip to Chatham and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. Unfortunately, a Nor'easter blew into the area and it rained and was quite chilly 4 out of 7 days but the house was cozy and fully equipped for indoor activities (VCR, games, books, ping pong table). Mostly, we spent those days exploring the charming towns along the Cape. When the weather cleared, we ran and biked along a beautiful bike path very near the home, went to the nearby beaches, shopped in adorable Chatham and read on the deck overlooking the pond. We planned to rent kayaks but didn't get the chance. We'll do it this summer since we are returning. We had great meals at local restaurants. The owners live next door and were delightful -- full of information, help and good cheer. The house is small so it was perfect for our little family. We didn't use the downstairs at all as it was a bit damp (perhaps due to the Nor'easter). The landscaping is lovely and the views of the pond are picture perfect.
