About Dave Clixby
I grew up downstate and our family vacationed in this area. The pristine beauty of the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, Lake Michigan Beaches, and the rolling hills of the open countryside captivated me from an early age. Out of all the little towns along the coastline, Frankfort is is the place that I kept coming back to. It's a little like stepping back in time; life seems more simple here. I found the house in 2001 and bought it as a long-term investment. We've put some 'elbow grease' into it and made improvements since then. It has been a lot of fun and the kids have made some happy memories here; fishing off the pier, canoeing the Betsie River, enjoying the house as a winter getaway. We hope that you will enjoy your stay here.

Why Dave Clixby chose Frankfort
There is so much to see and do in this part of the state! It is a great location to explore from. Traverse City and Manistee are a 45 minute drive. The Sleeping Bear Sand Dune National Park begins just outside of town. Herring Lakes and 'Watervale' are to the south and the Leelanau Peninsula is to the north. Also there is something special about the Betsie River flowing into the Bay and then out to Lake Michigan.
