The apartment is located on 19th Street at Noe Street. It's one flight of stairs up on the first level of an Arts & Crafts home built in 1915, and has a private entrance. The top two floors are occupied by your hosts who can help with visitor information and orientation.
Recently refurbished, the apartment is bright, cheerful and freshly painted, with lots of original artwork and antiques. It is spacious, very comfortable and convenient. It has one bedroom and one full bathroom. The bedroom is located in the rear of the apartment and is completely quiet. This apartment is perfect for two.
The house sits on the lower rise of Dolores Heights—Liberty Hill (see map) and is a short walking distance to outdoor cafes, restaurants, grocery stores, bars and dance clubs in the Castro, Duboce Triangle and the Mission. Within a five minute walk one can get to laundry services, taxis, historic streetcars and the MUNI—underground train system, with connections to both San Francisco and Oakland airports via BART.
Its central location makes it easy to walk to Dolores Park, just five minutes to the east, and on to restaurants like Delfina and Tartine Bakery and Cafes in the Mission. If you walk an equal distance to the northwest you’re at Castro and Market Streets where you can enjoy a seafood dinner at Catch or Anchor Oyster Bar restaurants and then see a movie or performance at the historic Castro Theater.
For urban hikers looking for great views, a walk up Liberty Hill to the south or Corona Heights on the way to the Haight Asbury will give you some of the best vistas in The City. Finishing up with some shopping and dining in Noe Valley is the perfect way to enjoy yet another one of San Francisco’s wonderful neighborhoods.

The City—only seven by seven miles in size—is culturally diverse and made up of wonderful neighborhoods, often separated by hills of various heights. The Castro is at the heart of San Francisco in the shadow of Twin Peaks, The Cities’ tallest hill. We live in The Castro because of its central location and the connectivity that comes with that. It’s a lively neighborhood that due to its position to Twin Peaks is one of the sunniest places during San Francisco’s classically foggy summers.
We enjoy the brightness of our home and how quiet it is considering the vibrancy of The Castro—even during the many annual Castro festivities that take place only blocks away. 19th Street is beautiful and has a variety of house styles that make walking in the neighborhood a highly enjoyable experience.
