My name is Jill. My husband and I have owned Huff and Puff Cottage since 1998. We officially retired and moved full time to Oakhurst in 2006. That's when our large home front addition was built and the Cottage was fully reconstructed.
What's not to Love about retired life in the Sierra Mountains where wildlife and friendliness abound? Nothing!!!
It's our desire that our guests find HUFF AND PUFF COTTAGE not just refreshingly clean, but warm and comfortable, peaceful and tranquil and well furnished with all the necessities and added amenities for a memorable vacation.
Jill purchased this cottage in 1998
Love the Huff and Puff! It's so nice to hope that the accomodations you rent are as nice as the photos, only to find when you get there that it is NICER than the pictures!! Everything we could need was there....."Borrow" the chairs and bring them with you into Yosemite...Great to have for little "stopovers" or breaks to sit and read your book in beautiful surroundings. Thank you for everything!!
Jill and her husband are such welcoming hosts. As noted by so many other guests, Huff and Puff Cottage is immaculately clean and the beds are very comfortable. We often prefer cooking fresh homemade food over dining in restaurants. The well stocked kitchen has everything you need to cook inside or grill homemade meals after exploring Yosemite all day.
The thoughtfully provided lightweight ice cooler and folding chairs added a new dimension to our days in Yosemite. We have such fond memories of just slowing down a bit and having picnics streamside and in the middle of beautiful meadows while taking in the Yosemite scenery. Many people strolling by us commented that they wish they had thought to do this. Jill, thank you for the suggestion!
I envy those able to visit Huff and Puff in the winter. Be sure to snuggle up in one of the quilts in front of the fireplace.
Staying at the Huff and Puff Cottage was amazing. Their home had everything we needed, and then some. The house was immaculate and cozy. Short drive to Yosemite South entrance, and 5 minute drive to town and grocery stores. The owners were very sweet and made themselves available to answer any questions. They even have detailed binders on sightseeing, and hiking trails. We stayed with 2 twelve year old's and the house had board games and a yard for them to enjoy. Both children cannot wait to come back. Much Much better than staying in a motel any day! We look forward to going back soon.
Oh my, a lovely, lovely place. Full of charm! Beautifully maintained, charming and very much loved. The owners greeted late at night with smiles on their face, a delightful couple. We would very much love to come back again!
The cottage was everything we expected and more. The amenities were great with everything you could want anticipated. We were as comfortable as staying in our own home.
The place was comfortable, spotless, clean and so wonderfull! We enjoyed it very much. It has everything we needed and it was very roomy. I could recommended it to everyone.
Our stay at the Huff and Puff cottage was wonderful. It's everything you see in the pictures and more. If you are planning on going to Yosemite or Bass Lake, this is the place to stay as it is perfectly situated. The owners are extremely welcoming and have thought of everything for a perfect stay. While in town, check out the Taqueria Plazuelas, the food is fabulous. We plan on returning in the near future.
