This condo on Johnston is a truly great place to stay. The location must be the best in Victoria, as everything you could possibly want to do or see is in walking distance.



The layout of the condo is very flexible, the kitchen is brand new with excellent stainless steel appliances and plenty of cutlery and crockery etc. There is also hook up to wi fi available.



The piece de resistance is the huge corner patio which has a gas fired BBQ, is a glorious sun trap, and means all the doors and windows can be open in the summer for fresh air, with absolute security.

My husband and I love living in this historic yet modern Canadian city. We travel frequently but always relish returning to just right-sized Victoria allowing easy access to world class sites and experiences. We look forward to sharing with you what we know about Victoria and its many attractions.

The Owner purchased this condo in 2010

This location is second to none. In the historic portion of Victoria, it retains all the charm of yesteryear with its refurbished heritage buildings. Yet it is five minutes walk through cobblestone streets to the Inner Harbour and 2 blocks from the oldest Canadian Chinatown. Outside the doorstep are numerous award winning restaurants and the LoJo (Lower Johnson) design area filled with one of a kind shops.

The building is in the heart of all the downtown action, yet is quiet and serene when you step indoors. Quality finishing and thick brick walls envelop you while the 12 foot ceilings flood the space with south and west light. The terrace is a show stopper, adding over 800 very enjoyable square feet to the living space.

MONACO ROOF TOP SUITE

We were fortunate enough to have stayed for a five month period in the most beautiful suite located right in the heart of downtown Victoria. It was sparkling clean; comfortable furniture, private bedroom and den; floor to ceiling windows, with a wrap around rooftop patio overlooking this beautiful city. We had all the comforts of home away from home in this luxurious suite. Eileen and Peter were absolutely fantastic to deal with, which made our stay so much more enjoyable. This little piece of paradise (which included private gated parking) had everything to make our stay perfect. With its downtown location you could walk in any direction to the ocean/inner harbour/shopping/ restaurants/boating/ absolutely anything your heart desired. I have highly recommended the rooftop suite to all my friends in Ontario. We won't hesitate to book here again....what a beautiful gem. Thank you two so much again for providing us with a little piece of heaven.

AMAZING PLACE/LOCATION - MISSING A FEW KEY INGREDIENTS

First, I want to say this apartment is amazing, and the owner, Eileen, is amazingly gracious as well. It's in an absolutely amazing location. It's a beautiful apartment, with tons of light and the best balcony I've ever seen. The area felt very safe, and it was walking distance to almost everything you'd want to see downtown.

So, why the three stars? The reason for the three stars is the following:
- the apartment was very dirty upon our arrival. In Eileen's defense, she was working hard to improve the poor cleaning job by a new cleaning person. However, when we spent some time there, we realized the floors were very dirty, as well as dirt and dust throughout. We have a baby, so it was really hard for us to let our baby play on the floor for fear of her picking something dirty up and putting it in her mouth. We also tried to use the vacuum that was available, but it didn't work much at all.
- bed in master bedroom was literally the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. My wife and I actually ended up spending the rest of the trip in the "office" sleeping on the futon because it was much more comfortable.
- The apartment was missing key items that any traveler would expect, including body soap, shampoo and conditioner. Maybe these items shouldn't be included, and maybe our expectations were misaligned, but in reality, I always expect at least the same level of amenities as a hotel. However, when we've rented places through VRBO in the past, everything one would need had been provided. Another issue was lack of kitchen storage items like tin foil. Again, not major, but an issue for us. There were a few other items missing as well, but hopefully you get the point.
Parking - the parking is a short walk to the front of the apartment. It's not your typical apartment underground/attached parking lot. Also, we had an SUV, and it was set up as such so it was very difficult for us to get in and out. One night we actually had to pay for parking elsewhere because we couldn't fit in any of the available spots.

I'd like to finally say we'd stay there again if the issues above were addressed. Our expectations just didn't match the reality. With a new bed, a clean apartment, and $20 worth of amenities, we would have given it 5 stars.

Owner's Response: Since Elvis and his family stayed, I have purchased a new queen bed and also have a new cleaner. That was very unfortunate and the only time the place has not been spotless. I gifted Elvis and his family $50 for the inconvenience and have made sure we are back to our usual high standards.

CONVENIENT, MODERN LOCATION

We enjoyed our stay in Victoria and at this apartment. It is quite modern, simply but beautifully decorated, and in a great downtown location - convenient to the entire town and easy to find. Appreciated the free and gated parking, the security, washer/dryer, and high cleanliness. View and outdoor patio were lovely. Though the den is small, I was comfortable sleeping there, so this apartment is good for couples but also for two friends.

Victoria is a beautiful town, the people were remarkably friendly and helpful, and it was a nice relaxing place to visit. If you plan on whale watching, I'd highly recommend the environmentally friendly Eagle Tours at Fisherman's Wharf.

CLEAN, MODERN, EXCELLENT LOCATION!

We loved this condo. Right in the middle of great boutique shopping, a short walk to the harbour and great restaurants. The condo was well equipped - but no bar soap for the shower. Because it is a rooftop terrace, the seagulls could get loud, but the views and extra square footage made up for that. Eileen was a great host.

This condo was amazing; perfect location in downtown Victoria, close to wonderful restaurants and sites, yet near the main roads to easily head out toward Sooke or anywhere else in the Victoria area. The condo was clean and well stocked, and Eileen was very helpful and accommodating with a last minute change in plans. I would highly recommend this condo, and will definitely consider this over a hotel on my next trip to such a beautiful city. Also, the terrace was a wonderful place to enjoy breakfast.
