Cruises: There are many different cruises offered in the Straits of Mackinac area. Tahquamenon Falls: The Upper falls is one of the largest waterfalls east of the Mississippi, with a drop of nearly 50 feet, spreading 200 feet across. A maximum flow of more than 50,000 gallons of water per second has been recorded surging over its impressive rock face.

The Upper Falls is also the location of the Tahquamenon Falls Brewery and Pub. What a great way to grab a little refreshment after a long day of nature walks. The Pub’s main attractions include a long rustic bar at the entrance and a functioning Micro Brewery. They also serve a wide variety of appetizers and entrees including whitefish, steak and shrimp.

Four miles downstream you will find the Lower Falls, a series of five smaller falls cascading around an island and forming a small lake where you can rent rowboats.

Absolutely wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing time over Christmas 2014. The house was absolutely beautiful and wonderfully appointed. The views were stunning of Lake Michigan, the fully equipped kitchen was great, the beds were comfortable, and the furnishings were tasteful (right down to the throne in the living room). Had a wonderful time, would recommend highly; look forward to visiting again!

So in love

  • 5 of 5

Words can't explain the beauty of this place. Everything was so perfect from start to finish. We had 14 adults and it felt comfortable with plenty of room. The views are breathtaking and the location of the cabin is gorgeous. Just so thrilled to spend my 30th birthday in one of the most beautiful spots in the UP. The surprise engagement to the love of my life was pretty amazing too! Now we will always have a place to remember the best days of my life!! Ps. Julie and Ryan are AWESOME!

Wonderful vacation cabin!

  • 5 of 5

I can not say enough about this cabin. It was everything we wanted and more. Our family group consisted of eight adults, two toddlers and a baby. The cabin is decorated beautiful but still comfy and livable. The open floor plan allowed the younger ones to run and chase, without having to worry about breaking or harming anything. The furniture is big and massive and so comfortable for sitting and visiting. The weather was in low 40's but we enjoyed the fireplace and catching up, so we didn't mind staying in cabin , plus you always have the beautiful view of lake you never get tired off. The guys loved the foosball and tv downstairs, which was nice for the ladies not to have to hear. The sauna was inviting and the shower in master bedroom felt great! We did venture down to beach everyday and enjoyed walking beach and skipping rocks, while younger ones pretended to fish and watch ducks. The beach is very private and the water so clear, we'd like to go back in warmer weather to enjoy it. ( even though five brave adults went in water for polar bear plunge . Brrr , ice could still be seen floating ). We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beds were very comfortable, plenty of nice towels, and the kitchen had everything you'd ever need, even Tupperware bowls for storage! Plenty of dishes , glasses, pans, coffee pot, toaster, etc. I received a nice email befor going to cabin with all information needed about cottage. The owner made us feel very welcome and answered all questions we had. Even though the cabin is rite off the main road, you'd never know it. It's on a very private lot and makes you feel like you're all by yourself. It was a wonderful vacation, enjoyed by all. The pasties across the street were voted our favorite, even have breakfast pasties. We loved hanging out and enjoyed all the beautiful, yet practical, details of the cabin. We usually pick a different location every year for our little family get together, but they all are saying they'd like to make this cabin in UP our tradition. So we will probably be going back. I'd recommend for adults as well as children.

An absolute delight to your senses!!

  • 5 of 5

To begin with, Ryan and Julie are the most accommodating hosts and truly wonderful people.

The cottage is breathtakingly beautiful, to say the least. It is a perfect blend of contemporary meets country charm and every nook and corner of it has been planned and designed to such detail that even when I was checking out of there, I was still discovering new things about the cottage.

We spent 2 nights at Wildwood, being a group of 12, the space was perfect. The cottage is well laid out. The kitchen comes with all the modern day appliances and is very well equipped. The bedrooms and bathrooms are luxurious, to say the least. Then, there is the beautiful backyard where you can spend hours, admiring the lake view or just take the flight of stairs down to the beach and you're in heaven.

All in all, it was a fantastic stay. Extremely comfortable and I would recommend Wildwood Cabin to everyone who's hitting the UP area, it is a must, if you are looking out for a luxurious holiday.

PS- 2 nights was a little too less to stay at Wildwood Cabin!!

Wildwood Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Our Wright Family of 13 had a wonderful one week stay at Wildwood Cabin. The layout gave us plenty of space for 9 adults and 4 children. The beauty of the cabin both inside and out was more than we expected, including the lovely landscaping and fire pit on the lake side of the cabin. The entire residence was very clean and inviting. The owner was responsive and helpful with any questions or concerns we had. We would definitely recommend Wildwood Cabin to anyone who wants to explore and enjoy the treasures of Michigan. The weather was perfect and we played in the waves of Lake Michigan and walked along her shores. (Water shoes helped protect tender feet from the rocks when swimming.) Water toys and beach chairs were plentiful.

We enjoyed the pies, ice cream and pasties from the local shop. The owners were helpful and directed us on a nature hike to Brevort Lake. We did our main

grocery shopping at Glen's in St. Ignace, a neat little town.

Tourist sites were easily visited from the cabin. We took the ferry to Mackinac Island, drove to Tahquamenon Falls and would recommend a rowboat ride there.

We drove to Whitefish Point and put our feet in Lake Superior. One family also

explored the Mystery Spot!

On the day we left, our granddaughter asked if we could come back some day

to Wildwood Cabin. We hope to do so!

Beautiful cabin that makes us wish we lived in St. Ignace. A bit pricey but very luxurious. Discount earlier review about traffic noise- an occasional truck was all we heard. Nicely stocked with things I thought I would have to provide- condiments, paper towel, garbage bags, laundry soap. The water and beach really sell the place as well as the good personal service from the owners. Make sure you hit Java Joe's when in St. Ignace- we loved that place! Overall, a wonderful stay. Where can I buy those adorable lamps with cracking fireplace??? :)
