MARTHAS VINEYARD AWAY FROM IT ALL

Overall, this was a comfortable and inviting home away from all the hustle and bustle and tons of tourists that some of the other towns have, but close enough to go their when you want.
The association beach was a very private, beautiful rocky beach that was wonderful for long walks and quiet moments. If you want to go to a beautiful sandy beach "Lucy Vincent" is close by and well worth the parking pass fee.
The negatives (for some) to this house is it was not appropriate for small children. The deck railings are outdated and a little one could easily get into trouble if not watched carefully. Their was also a large enough gap between the window and stairwell that we had to block off. The road to the house is a rocky dirt road so it was impossible for the children to ride in the burly buggy that we rented. We had to transport the bikes and buggy into town for that.
The photos pictured are accurate, however their were a few discrepencies. The lower bedroom is a queen the two twins/ or queen was upstairs. The downstairs family room (TV room) does not have a day bed/ trundle, instead a leather couch. The living room does not have a sofa bed. So their is no extra bedding options in this home.
The rental agent is extremely helpful and the maintenance staff is quick and efficient. We did have a problem that was handled within hours of us calling.
Overall a great time was had by all.

Owner's Response: I am grateful for time taken w/this mostly accurate review. However there are some discrepancies that need to be addressed.
The railings are not only up to code, but surpass the current building code requirements. This home always seems to have children as occupants and no one has ever said the railings were outdated nor required specific attention-no more than any house w/ a second story deck (as pictured) would require which should certainly be taken into consideration when traveling w/ very small children.
The queen BR downstairs can be arranged as either 2 twins or a queen as stated, the 3 queen BRs upstairs do not offer this option. It is set up as a queen if no other prior arrangements are made.
There has never been any mention of a sofa bed in the LR.
The one trundle bed was removed from the TV room in late winter of 2010 and the description/information has reflected this change since that time. There is now a leather couch and 2 sling chairs in its place and the 2 new "settees" pictured under the bookcase/TV area slide out further to create 2 twin beds if so desired.
It is not recommended by any familiar w/ MV that one ride w/ small children in a " burly buggy" anywhere in Chilmark as there are no designated bike paths in the entire town and the roads, both in the associations and public, have no shoulders.
Again, I am extremely grateful for this review and I am pleased that the tenants had such an enjoyable vacation with such prompt attention as our greatest wish is that our tenants be happy during their stay.
