The best thing about this place was location! Very close to the beach. However, I was not happy with several things including the third bedroom in basement. The bed was horrible! The electric was only 100 amps and every time we turned on our hairdryers the circuit blew! Had to figure out how to reset the circuit! When we took a shower, water was dripping from the kitchen ceiling! Didn't know how to stop that. Beach umbrella was broken...take your own. We planned on taking our own, but they said we didn't need to. Air conditioning system is directly outside basement bedroom. It is extremely loud when it kicks on. Had hard time sleeping in there. I won't be staying here next year!
Owner's Response: Jennifer, we are very sorry that your visit was not a pleasant one. We do our best to leave the house in good condition and try to leave a few extras so that our guest don't have to bring beach chairs, beach toys, umbrellas, etc. We had no idea until your visit that the umbrella was broken. We are replacing it.
We have not had any complaints until now about the lower level bedroom, especially the bed. It is difficult to find a mattress that pleases everyone ( to soft, to hard). Our family and friends use the house during the off season and didn't have a problem. We will certainly check with other guest and if we find the same complaint, will replace it. As far as the air conditioner unit, most of the homes have the units in the same place. It was set up that way when we purchase the house, so all we did was upgrade the unit.
Our granddaughters bring their friends to the beach several times using hairdryers and curling irons and have not had a problem with the circuit breaker, but we are definitely going to check into that problem. We had hoped that after we talked and told you how to reset the breaker, that your problem didn't continue.
As far as the water leaking into the kitchen from the shower, that only happens when the shower curtain is not closed properly and the water gets on the floor. The house has pine floors and ceilings and when water puddles on the bathroom floor it eventually leaks through. Rarely have we heard this complaint, but will be certain to let our guest know before their check-in.
Again, we are sorry that your vacation was not as pleasant as you anticipated.
