This house is a convenient location and beautiful setting. It’s one of the best fishing lakes in Illinois. Pontoon rentals are also available at nearby marina. Excellent family restaurant and bar on the lake within walking distance. Take a nature hike on the thirteen mile trail around the entire lake. Tennis courts are available across the street. The adjoining townhome can also be rented for larger groups. Great year round retreat and very accommodating!

Owners club swimming pool will be closed from July 8 thru the end of the season. New pool will be open next year.

Unique Features of This Property: Location, Location, Location!! Gorgeous view of the lake. This home is close to everything you want. Walking distance to The Cove Restaurant, tennis courts, outdoor swimming pool, marina, clubhouse and hiking trails are just one block away. Rent a boat and enjoy Apple Canyon Lake. Other Area Attractions include: Galena Recreation Park featuring sand volleyball, pavilions, play ground equipment, outdoor public swimming pool and skate park. Historic Downtown Galena, many shops and excellent restaurants. Chestnut Mountain Ski Resort includes biking trails, alpine slide, miniature golf and great food with beautiful scenery overlooking the Mississippi River. Dubuque features the Diamond Jo Casino and National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium. Air balloon rides available in season.

Why We Chose Apple Canyon Lake:: We enjoy the casual atmosphere. The development is full of fun loving people. We enjoy boating and entertaining. We love the sunsets, the 13 mile nature trail around the lake and the Apple Canyon State Park nearby.

Owners Profile:: We moved from Chicago's Western suburbs 31 years ago. We have been building and selling vacation homes in Jo Daviess County since 1979. This is the second town home that we purchased and rent at Apple Canyon Lake. We bought this one so that we could rent to larger groups and families. Each unit can handle 8 adults. Having the units side by side also seemed to be a bonus. Deb is an AIA architect specializing in residential and historic properties. Paul is a real estate broker in Jo Daviess County specializing in new construction and farms. We enjoy meeting new people and helping them make their dreams come true.

Great for Kids!

We had a wonderful time at Apple Canyon Lake and the town house was perfect for kids. Thanks for working with us to make our last summer vacation happen. Our family feels like we found a new getaway spot. We hope to return in season to enjoy more of the amenities of the community. Thanks again.

Great place to stay in and great location. It realy matched the owner's description and pictures. Very spacious on both floors, with plenty of supplies in each room. Everything looks brand new. Great view of the lake and Cove Restaurant is right down the hill. Owner was extremely helpful and showed us everything in the place when we arrived. Highly recommend staying here if you are headed to the Galena area.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Close to everything!

Thank you for a great weekend! This was our first trip to Apple Canyon and hopefully not our last! The house was perfect for a few small families to share, and we loved the proximity to the lake, the pool and the marina! We highly recommend renting a boat at least one day because the lake water is clear and clean and there are many peaceful coves where you can anchor and swim/float!

This was a lovely stay in a wonderful, clean & spacious home! Thank you.
