Our family lived in this house from 2003-2011. Once we reached the empty nest stage, we relocated to the US to be closer to family and started vacation rentals in our house. Yet, we still enjoy family vacations there.
This is a home with wonderful family memories, children growing into adults, holidays, and visits with many family friends and extended family including grandparents.
It's well suited for multi-generational groups or multiple families.
We hope your family and friends, whoever you vacation make many great memories in our home as well.
Cindy Lindelien purchased this villa in 2003
The attractions of the Manuel Antonio area combine almost everything a tourist comes to Costa Rica for. There are gorgeous beaches, lots of wildlife varieties, and all water sports and activities. Inland are mountains, waterfalls, and rivers. A wide variety of activities is available to take these in such as whitewater rafting, horseback riding, ATV tours, Canopy Tours, hiking and more. It's all here in this one location.
We love being able to walk to a choice of several first class restaurants, or to the store or the bank. A car is not needed.
Besides our location and amazing views, this is the most sustainable vacation rental in Manuel Antonio. We've installed solar panels, solar water heating, natural clothes drying and natural evaporative cooling features to assist the air conditioning. This allows for a luxurious and comfortable vacation experience in the topics while keeping costs down and caring for the environment.
Thank you so much for the wonderful stay! We could not have imagined a more perfect location.
No questions about it, this beautiful villa is PERFECT in every way. Location: The villa is situated down and away from the main road to M.A. park, thus there is no street noise, only beautiful sounds from the ocean and Howler monkeys in the distance. It is a nice, yet strenuous walk down to two very different beaches. The supermarket and many very good restaurants are also within walking distance. We did not have a rental car, and the perfect location allowed us to rely on our feet, buses, and taxis to get us to many places.
Villa: Husband and I traveled with our two teenage kids, and we opted to occupy both the canpoy room and the Bird of Paradise rooms, each of which is comfortable, bright and roomy. But we only stayed in the rooms to sleep and play cards (during the rain showers) as there were so many options of outdoor living space upon which to enjoy the gorgeous ocean views. Each patio provided very comfortable seating and dining choices. The many 'air chairs' provided hours of relaxing reading spots, while the outdoor kitchen allowed us to be immersed in the tropical environment while enjoying local coffee and fresh fruits from the area. The pool area, with clean towels provided daily, was always inviting, especially after hours at the beach.
Owners: CIndy was extremely helpful from my first inquiry about the villa, answering all questions and providing me with very detailed information. Tom was extremely welcoming after our long day of traveling to get there. We felt comfortable and 'at home' from the minute we arrived, and during out entire stay. Alberto and Lorena were also very kind.
El Mirador Magnifico.... the PERFECT vacation villa!!!!!!!
The pictures don't really do justice to the house or the view. Both are spectacular. But the real treat was how the property manager and staff went so far above and beyond for us. Their effort really made the trip easy in ways we didn't expect. We were a group of eight: 2 couples, each with a toddler and a baby. They had 2 cribs at the house for the babies; went grocery shopping for us before we arrived; did laundry for us nearly every day; prebooked tours; and helped us find an excellent chef (Guy) to cook at the house for us twice. Highly recommended.
We loved being right in the middle of Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park. The room served as a perfect base for all our excursions. We stayed in the bottom level (bird of paradise room). The first two nights we were able to use the outdoor kitchen on the top floor because no renters had checked in yet. We really enjoyed that. We ran to the store to buy more ice and had stored all the food items away and while we were gone, I am guessing it was a monkey got in there and knocked the silverware tray on the ground and even opened the toaster oven (which we hid the bottles of alcohol in). Smart monkeys.
Alberto, the property manager, was so helpful. He set up all our excursions for us and even went with us to the farmers market to interpret. He arranged for the housekeeper to wash our wet muddy clothes from the ATV tour…thanks again for that!
The road leading down to the house was extremely bumpy, but its not their fault. We enjoyed our time there very much. Thank you!!!
We had an incredible time staying at the El Mirador Magnifico. The house itself was amazing; each room with it's own character. The view from almost every room was breathtaking! During our stay, we were fortunate enough to be able to watch this amazing man trim the trees around the property; climbing up to 60 feet with NO ladder and barefooted!!! Wow. He took the view from a million dollar view to a 3 million dollar view. No obstructions at all....absolutely breathtaking. Alberto the manager and Monica the housekeeper were great. On our second day there, they made us a delicious Costa Rican lunch....yum! Alberto, the manager, is truly an amazing young man. He booked all our activities and even joined us on our horseback riding excursion. We never worried about anything and the excursions we went on were spectacular. He is truly a gem and made our stay even more amazing than it already was. Manuel Antonio did not disappoint us and we enjoyed all it had to offer and El Mirador Magnifico was the icing on the cake. We were very sad to leave and wished our trip could have lasted longer. Cindy, Alberto and Monica thank you so much for your hospitality!!!!! When we come back to Manuel Antonio, and we will, we will definitely stay at the El Mirador Magnifico. We recommend this beautiful house to anyone who wants a truly amazing vacation home in Manuel Antonio,
Our experience at Mirador Magnifico was exceptional! Cindy and Jim are not only gracious hosts but downright experts about Costa Rica. It felt like we were on a vacation where we had a private concierge to handle all of our needs relative to helping us plan tours, booking them, and insight into the local area.
The home is situated on a hill in a perfect location close enough to walk to most restaurants and yet secluded enough to feel like your in the rainforest!
For anyone considering the MA/Quespos area to vacation please check out this place, it really was amazing!
Thanks again Cindy and Jim!
This is one of my favorite places to stay in one of my favorite spots. The photos are much in line with what it really looks like. The description of the rooms, amenities, and activities was very accurate. I love the architectural style of the house but the views really make it special. The house faces the ocean and Manuel Antonio National Park, surrounded by lush trees and flowering plants. The upper deck is a lookout at everything across the treetops, wildlife and all.
It's relaxing to watch the scene from the patios or pool after a day of adventure, waiting for the monkeys to come play in the trees around the house. They usually put on a pretty good show jumping and swinging, often coming very near.
The outdoor kitchen’s perfect for gathering, sharing a meal or a cocktail, talking over the day’s activities as the sun goes down behind the house and all turns pink. There is lots of outdoor space and seating to kick back and enjoy.
The rooms are spacious, cool and comfortable with tiles, stone and beautiful wood trim making for a very tropical, clean, luxury in the jungle ambiance. The bathroom in the larger suite has a huge open shower. The rooms have many windows for waking up to the views. Sunrise is spectacular here if you are up that early. As well the house is very eco-friendly; the owners have made an effort to offset their impact which is very fitting in such a special place.
There are beaches, the park, a grocery store and many restaurants within walking distance, a short drive, taxi or bus ride depending on your ambition. Many nearby restaurants offer a variety of cuisine, views and live music. El Avion or Ronnie’s Place are my favorites. Nearby Quepos offers more shopping and restaurants. I recommend getting out and talking with the very friendly and warm local people. Most of the tour operators will pick you up and provide some conversation along the way.
The beaches near the house are lovely, with warm water. The closest has long stretches of sand and beautiful scenery viewed from the water. The waves are large and can be a lot of fun. Another beach has a large bay, no big waves. Or a little further is the busier beach near the park if you like to be near the hubbub of little markets and restaurants. The park itself also has a couple of nice beaches and snorkeling.
Great place thanks to Cindy and Jim (owners) and Lorena and Alberto (staff)! I can’t wait to go back!
